Your story actually reminds me of this video:
That video is pretty old, like it looks like it came from the 1950s or 1960s. So if there were more test subjects during this era discussing the importance of color there could possibly be research from the 1950s/60s on the effects of LSD on the colorblind . It seems like one of those things that would have been studied at least once in human history.

Color blindness is caused by lack of pigments in the retina, not some deficiency in the brain. It's like having a TV that is missing the blue phosphor. No matter how much LSD you take, you are still only going to see RG, not RGB.
I read this right before going to her apartment where I am as I type. You brought up a good point. I wanted to test it.
So first thing's first. She cannot see the colors today. Everything is grey again. Reds and greens. How ever she says she can remember the colors. So I noticed a Christmas stocking pinned to her wall. Green fringe on top and red stocking/sock underneath. I asked her which one was green, and she pointed to the top and when I asked about red, she pointed to the stocking/bottom.
So I assume she did see the true colors. Although, you could still be right, but in short. I suppose no one will know since we cannot see through her eye's and perspective.
Either way, she's in a total after glow today and very happy/grateful for her experience and that's all that matters to me.

This is an awesome video. Though it doesn't say I wonder if she was colorblind(the girl in the video), from what she said it sounds possible.
Thank you for sharing!

This doesn't make sense though, when people that arn't colorblind take acid they don't see the all of the colors human eyes arsn't designed to see. So why would this be any different?

When you see things that aren't there you are not seeing with your eyes. I would assume that the colors she saw came from the visual center of her brain which should still be capable of processing color rather than her color incapable eyes.

It's an amazing idea, no doubt, but for obvious reasons, I'm VERY skeptical.

The lsd probably stimulated some part or other of her brain making her see colors, it would not likely have an effect on the eyes.

not that i understand the medical stuff
but if she was only red/green blind, and she saw colors she never saw before, i would assume she was seeing red/green

Maybe that's who she saw, and OP just misunderstood

i've seen colours outside of humans visual spectrum, only in my most lucid of dreams though. so although i'm a bit skeptical, i've "seen" enough to claim that i do not think it's too outrageous to be true.
