expanding from 50 to 250lbs per week

long time listener, first time caller

I have been growing oysters on wheat straw using Amycel grain spawn in 5 gallon buckets for about 6 months now and my demand has out paced my production by about 10x.

I currently soak and steam pasteurize my straw in a pair of 55 gallon drums with a wagner wall paper steamer.

I have been thinking about switching to a chemical (lime bath) pasteurization method and was wondering if I'm barking up the wrong tree...

is there a definitive way to process 250lbs of dry straw that one guy can do in his basement?

I think I have the growrooms and harvesting/cold storage set for up to 250lbs /week
but the pasteurization technique on such a large scale is giving me a headache

tips...???
tricks...???
answers..???

Jut for a quick reference  take how much time it takes u to make and grow your 50lbs/ week and multiply that by 5.  This should give u an estimate of how much extra work hours you will need, Dont forget maitenance, harvest, composting old subsrates and delivery times as well.

i process 100lbs dry straw 5 days a week.  lime bath in 4 drums.  I've run the straw through a wood chipper.  Two hours in the morning for making straw logs.  an hour and a half in the evening for shredding and soaking the straw.  So 3-4 hours or around half of my work day is just doing that.

Drake89: can you explain your lime bath for me, what brand lime do you use? do you aerate the solution? do you pre soak?

also I was wondering if after the lime bath do you use a ph stabilizer like gypsum in your bulk? or maybe just some acidic supplement like coffee grounds?

I have an awesome supply of pre shredded wheat straw (the waste from a decorative straw baling operation) so that really cuts down on my straw processing time,  I feel like I could do 250lbs of dry per week pretty easily especially if I use a lime bath.
