Insight needed

Hello Shroomerites, before I get into things I think it is worth mentioning that I have been successful cultivating mushrooms in the past and I do not want to purchase more spore syringes. Now currently I have about 4cc of spore solution, what is the best way to never purchase more spores? Should I grow some and take spore prints to make syringes or should I make liquid culture or something else?
Thanks.

Well you're going to eventually need to get more spores, so I would go with growing some mushrooms and making prints.

Rye seed jars need a pressure cooker for sterilization don't they? And so my best course of action would be to grow and take prints? Also I've read about agar, what about that?

No need to buy more spore syringes. Use the last few cc's to make a few liquid cultures. When they run out, use the last few cc's of lc to make more lc. Simple as that, other options are g2g transfers to keep your culture alive.

Sorry, didn't realize you didn't have a pc. I'd highly recommend going down to Walmart and picking one up. It's not too expensive and then you could move on to grains, lc, and bulk substrates. But to answer your question, agar would probably work great too, but it isn't as exponential as lc or g2g transfers are.

That's what I'm looking for, thanks. I'm just worried about the contamination issue with LC.

What about it? Yes, you can start with agar to get a culture, but that won't last forever either. You're going to eventually need spores. You get spores from mushrooms. Making an LC with a used syringe that's been laying around for awhile? Good luck.

If you do half-pint BRF cakes you don't need a PC.

No, but they are way more reliable and with a pc he could make lc and really stretch his spores almost infinitely.

I have to wonder about that a bit... If he takes clones, isolates, and makes a master slant, he should be able to take a sample from that and plate it, which in turn could supply quite a few plates, which in turn could supply a bunch of masters, which would then supply fuck ton of jars/bags... and the restart back over from his stored master.
Going the above route, he would only have to "renew" his master every couple of years by transferring from it, growing it out a bit on a plate and transferring back to a new master... Though it wouldn't last *forever* it would likely outlive any growing he would do in his lifetime.. (who knows it might even outlast him?) I could of course be wrong, but am pretty sure that I've seen rr and a few others talking about continuance this way and it seems pretty valid.
Get a pressure cooker op, get some agar, start doing grains... worst case scenario you will need to print some out in 20 years or so.
