The purpose in my life.
    #18726394 - 08/19/13 08:08 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

I think ultimately right now I just want an easy life, one that offers as little resistance as possible physically and mentally. I don't give a damn about life or anything in it, although not in a negative sense, if there is anything here I should care about for any other reason I haven't been shown it simply and haven't been able to fathom it from the soup of the seemingly unknowable. My task of an easy life takes opposition to nature in most ways and perhaps this is the core of nature, I have to battle with it and figure it out in order to make myself physically comfortable and I must do the same with the mental locks it's set in me.

It's funny what a change has come about in me over the past 5 or so years, literally my entire pattern of action has been slowly changing so that everything now boils down to this goal and all my wants and desires have changed accordingly becoming simpler and more focused. I only just now see that this is what's been happening and it's taken a long time to pick out the majority of ideas that are useless to my task.

I'm pretty much in line with this quote from the Buddha on this one:

“In the end
these things matter most:
How well did you love?
How fully did you live?
How deeply did you let go?”

How about you? What drives you in life? What do you want out of it?

I've watched you go though those changes here.  I've been impressed.  I've pretty much reached the same conclusions.

 You don't have any desires other than to do what you're obligated to do? I don't buy that, come on quinn be honest.

why is that so unbelievable?

i feel obligated a lot of the time to family, friends etc..

if i could have things my own way i would prob just wander around aimlessly and follow whatever whim took me, or possibly not do much at all.. :ohwell:

Why can't you have things your own way?  You said the obligation is all of your own creation?

i'd say some of it is my own creation but some of it is also real... i dont know, i would like to have things my way but as it stands going against the ppl who support me (or passing up opportunities they present me) seems illogical, especially if i dont have my own plan... which i dont

Then your obligation is really about and to yourself wouldn't you say? You choose their support over some type of imagined freedom.  Likely seems safer to you. I think that's true for all of us most of the time.

My purpose in life is looking for meaningful purposes only to fail at finding them, then discussing  the intricacies of my continual failure under the influence of highly euphoric drugs.

I don't see myself keeping up with this behavior very long after death.

I'm staying positive that this gives me the rest of the day to smoke ice and ponder the source of my despair.
