If you build your own computer (not as hard as it might sound) you can save tons of money on an awesome gaming rig. About 800 dollars can get you a solid machine

thats legit lol.
When building a computer, the hardest part is basically making sure all the components are completely plugged in where they need to be. And you have to apply thermal paste to the processor (easy)
If you read a guide, I'm sure you'd have no problem.

I love them both however I thought Fallout 3 was better.
I do like being able to customize your weapons in NV. I hate the reputation system in NV and not being able to choose a perk every level up.
As far as the maps I think the Capital Wasteland was much better than the Mojave Wasteland.
EDIT:I have just started playing New Vegas recently because every time I started playing New Vegas I just couldn't get into it as much as I could in Fallout 3.

you can build a machine that is on par with the new consoles for 500$, but the more the merrier!

Everyone i know in person that has played both prefers NV, as do I.
They were both good games NV was just a better map and had cooler shit to do IMO. The only thing i really loved/remember at all of F3 is my first encounter with death claws.
"damn wtf is that it looks really cool" "That fucker is strong and fast" "oh shit there are 2 more of them" "oh shit shit shit shit" dead......
lol it was great.

NV had much better gameplay (to be fair tho, most of it was ripped strait off of F3 community mods-- weapon add-ons, survival and all)
but man, Fallout 3 was faking EPIC! I remember being strait up giddy coming out of the vault into the Capital Wasteland for the first time; looking off into the distance at this immense, integrated world they had built. ffs, at one point I was scrounging around an abandoned metro station collecting cans to be melted down into screws to hold Megaton together. Oh yeah, Megaton-- that city that you could FUCKINGNUKE.

And how about the ancient tree-god that begs for you to end his life?

That game was inspired; DC made for a perfect apocalypse.

For me, as shallow is it sounds, it was the music. I really enjoy the soundtrack to Fallout3. Heck, I listen to it not too infrequently IRL. The soundtrack to NV grated my nerves from the instant I put the game in. Not a fan of westerns or cowboy anything, so it really missed the mark with me.

I understand what you mean. I liked both games but here was the difference for me:
Fallout 3: Really atmospheric, first time play it was quite mind-blowing, difficult and immersive but it was my first open-world RPG. But the ending... I was getting really hyped up for a big battle, getting the right armour, levelling up and so-on. I was so, so disappointed with the ending. Never tried any of the DLC and never played it much after my first run.
Fallout NV: Less atmospheric IMO, the landscape didn't seem as genuine to tell you the truth. It didn't even look that wild. Even more monotone than F3. But get this, the only reason I haven't seen the ending yet is because I'm just having too much fun playing it! I actually felt like I wanted to go off the beaten path and do some side-quests. I wanted to try the DLC. I get really into my character and get behind their interactions with the NPCs instead of feeling detached from it like in F3. I can't say exactly why I like NV more, I just do. It just feels like a richer and more compelling game.
That said sometimes I did want to go back to F3 because I found NV a bit dreary and sarcastic at times, and the Vegas drugs and gambling theme just didn't suit me. I also found the politics confusing and the NCR were a pain in the bum. I did like the softer themes of F3 a little more.
Oh I don't know, did I really like NV more? I must have just going by hours of gameplay and how I always seem to drop F3 only a day or to after picking it back up.

Shit i guess i cant really decide, they were both damn good games.
The story was a little stupider in NV i thought, i cant even remember the ending to F3 doesnt a nuke go off and everyone dies or some shit, the whole war between the Brothers of steel or whatever they were called and the president was bitching. Same with that super mutant dude that became your bro

thats a truly compelling re-telling of the story
You just finished project purity, so all the waters clean. Then it ends, and if you didn't have a save before you enter the last room that character is gone

Thank you, thank you
Oh ya i remember that. The only part of the map i definitely did not like was Capital hill, i think they really fucked that up could have been done so much better. The invisible walls really killed replayibility(if thats a word). I dont even think i went back to DC after beating the quest

yup thats the one.
I never really think about how the parts i hate in a game could be another persons favorite and vice versa, kinda blows your mind. I like wide open spaces and the Capitol just felt restricted to me.
