the key to not having dry chicken is to not poke holes in it, cause all the juices will run out when it cooks. its ok to cut it into the piece you want, but dont be poking holes through that piece once you got it!! And dont overcook it. you want to cook it thoroughly for sure, but not overcooked.
there are other things too, like cooking it in a humid environment (like steam cooking), or just deep frying in batter (retains moisture very well). What I would do in this case is cook the battered chicken in the oven a bit first for like 15 minutes @ 350. then put that sucker in the deep fryer with a second coat of your spicy chicken sauce.
lather some buns up with mayo, hit ir with the lettuce and whatever other toppings. fucking forgetaboutit.

I suck at cooking meat too. I'm just now getting to where I can time it just right after much trial and error. Jist check it and cut into a piece to see if it's done or not. Home made food is infinitely tastier.

I used to wait tables at a country club and the best thing on the menu IMO was called greek chicken. It was a chicken breast covered in this sauce with feta cheese, greek olive and I forget what else. But It was sooooo good. Then one day I asked a cook for the recipe and he gave me a copy of it and after about 10 attempts at it I finally got it down.
Its still my favorite dish to this day. In fact I think I'll make one tonight

hey op if you are seriously going for the deep fry, get a thermometer. nothing fucks up deep frying like having the wrong oil temp. and get an oil with a high smoke point, like peanut or canola

I find it so interesting that there is pretty much a consensus in a forum where so many people treat their bodies badly by abusing certain drugs that we are all so weary of fast food.
I'm the same way. I haven't eaten fast food with a few drunken exceptions in 5 or 6 years. It's so much better to patronize locally, privately owned restaurants not only because the food is so much better/healthier but also because it helps the local economy.
I'd love to see a controlled study of drug users eating healthy and locally as opposed to non drug users that stuff their faces with junk every day, and why this happens in our society.

I'm with you guys on Chik-Fil-A. That's the one fast food joint I'd actually like to eat from. But they're too expensive and homophobic.

They're no more expensive than any of the other ones IMO. I guess it depends on what you order. I don't give a shit about their beliefs as long as I get my chicken nuggets lol.

pirate-blues said: Well, we don't have carls jr or hardees here, and I have to be a special kind of drunk to go for fast food, but one night I was rather stoned and had a hankering for a chocolate milkshake. So my friend and I drove all over town at around 2am-ish looking for a McDonalds or Burger King that would give us our milkshakes.
Literally every place we stopped that wasn't closed told us their ice-cream/milkshake/whatever machine was down. We stopped at three or four different places across town and it was the same story.

We finally located milkshakes from some place that was not a fast food restaurant, but it was a headscratcher.
I consistantly had this happen to me, back around a year or so ago. Every time we would do a late Mick dees run they would say their machine was down. Then one time they said they just cleaned it and didn't want to get it dirty and re cleaned before they closed. Pretty sure thats the case everytime they say its "down" when its late at night like taht.
But at OP, fuck fast food in general (with a couple exceptions)
Food is one of those things I pay more to get quality.
I knew it was a conspiracy!!
And yah, normally I much prefer to cook my own food in general. I used to eat out all the time with friends of mine who are total foodies, but it gets way too expensive.
Otherwise I will normally cook food nowadays - sometimes when I've got a million and a half restaurants within walking distance it's hard not to go out with friends from time to time, but I think it's a lot more fun to cook a big dinner at home with friends in an environment where you can drink for cheap, and get high just before eating.
