Are ramen noodles the way to go? I have a small meal plan (2 meals a day during weekdays only) and I plan on bumming some food from the cafe for later use, but what else should I get?
I have no oven. Just a microwave and minifridge.

God that sucks. Ramen noodles is amateur hour in terms of eating well on a budget, but if all you have is a microwave that definitely limits your choices. Definitely utilize your meal plan, eat balanced meals and fruits and vegetables when in the cafe.
If I were you I'd get a slowcooker/crockpot and cook some bitching meals right out of my dorm room.
And yah, potatoes are your friend. Instantly filling cheap meal that's not completely horrible for you.

yeah I just buy a shit ton of ramen noodles along with some chicken breast and veggies to add to it. I also buy a bunch of ground beef and make my own burgers. You should invest in a george foreman grill. It gives you a lot more options

Your entire budget should go to chicken breast, beans, milk, and frozen veggies. Buy a box of cereal for breakfast

I lived in a halfway house for 2 years with recovering addicts and newly released convicts. Those guys could whip up some amazing stuff in the microwave combining ramen with other canned veggies and shelf stable stuff.
But seriously, that is not the healthiest. Some cheap ideas.... I do quinoa with water, bullion cube, and then toss in fresh chopped veggies at the end...I shop at discount groceries(the ones with dented cans and such, just avoid dairy hahahaha)....A lot of the world lives on variations of beans and rice with other stuff thrown in for flavor and nutrition....Beans and rice provide carbs, but they are a protein source when cooked together.
Good luck! You will make it....I lived on a budget for undergrad and grad....I kept on wishing to be done with school, but now that I am working, I miss those days....enjoy the experience!

My roommate and I burnt through so much Ramen last year.
All we ever used our fridge for was Coors Light and leftovers.
Food plans are great; as long as you can remember to get to the cafeteria before they shut down, you'll never go too hungry.

Yeah man I do have a beer budget so im expecting my weekend binges to sort of offset my low calorie intake during the week.
I will probably be buying protein shakes because I do hit the gym about 5 times a week.

In my lovely home state of Michigan we have this thing called a bridge card. It's basically like food stamps but better from what I've heard.
I'm not a student so I don't have any personal experience but two friends of mine used to each have one. They used to let you buy beer with it so one friend would use his to buy beer and the other would use his to buy food, it was pretty funny.
They kind of cracked down on it recently, you can still get one though if you know what you're doing.
So yeah maybe see if your state has something similar.
