1 are Psathyrella, probably at least related to P. candolleana.

Thanks, Byrain. That's a much better match on habitat than Agrocybe, 'cuz I know they started on the holly stump and have moved out over the years.
I don't suppose you have any idea on #3???

Thanks! Guess there's not great interest here in the possible fungal connections to burl? Wiki is vague on cause...

I tried to google what causes burls on alders, but didn't get very far. 
Also, my very amateur guess on 4. is Parmelia, you might be able to get something more specific at mushroom observer.

Yeh, me neither. I'd think there might be more robust info on causes of burls on different species, prolly is but I'm not going to spend countless hours on it. Did look at some nice burl bowls, tho'.
I'll check out the Parmelia. This lichen looks very similar to what's all over, but more robust.
