Short about myself so you understand my background , as a child I was dying the doctors told my parents that there is no hope , my mother went to a shaman an she cured me.. and I am alive because of that
at age 13 I started to study various shamanist tradisjons and was , and have been doing it for 20 years now , Others call me Shaman , and I think I live up to the title , my main job is to be the care taker of the people , when all seems lost in insanity and you run out just to sit in a street corner all by yourself crying alone , its then I come out of my shadows and turn insanity to sanity and light a torch in the darkness and lead the person back to he`s/she`s path , It’s me people come to ask for advice when them self is lost , this is nothing I have asked for but I have accepted that this is who I am.
this is one of the main fundaments with being an Shaman , to give advice and guide , no. 2 is healing with and understanding the plant , I can heal with herbs and I understand much by nature , but I also can heal with modern medicine , since I live in the west I let the doctors do the healing as a basic rule , if they fail I can sometimes help.
no.3 the more metaphysical part or the spiritual center , I have an active spiritual belief , this is where the shaman goes to seek new answers among other things. my base is Gaia , both as a planet, nature and a goddess , we are all here children and we are all brothers and sisters..
this 3 components it’s how a shaman is defined true history and present.
As an western Shaman I feel that the first component is most relative and important , but they all goes to gether and all are important.
I am Bipolar , born with it , many reports I have red , indicates that people with bipolar disorder often become shaman in the old world and still in the rainforest. I understand why , I can tell that inn another thread if it is of some interest.
It’s not uncommon for shamans from different tribes to meet together in Council and share wisdom and what they see..
Just as it said I was a shaman long time before I tried the holy mushroom , just the last 3-4 years I have taken them sometimes , and yes it’s a good tool , especially if you have learned techs from shamanism in advance that you can put to use there.
but enough about me , if you want to have shaman talk with me you are welcome to PM me.
Here is the real question , I have for a long time now feel the call to go the Amazon , not only to see the nature , or to try ayahuasca , but in fact meet and talk with other Shaman that have lived their lives there , they are the roots of everything. I cannot longer ignore this call , but I have never been in the rainforest before , I see a lot of company’s offer tourist packs , but I don’t think they will give me what I am after ,
What I want is to be led with help off a guide to a tribe that is one of the more easy accessible once since it’s my first time , and a translator/interpret so I can speak with a Shaman or even bother more shaman.
I guess (hope) that some of you inn here have done similar travels and maybe know a company or have elsewhere contacts that can help me to this end
