So today I had the pleasure of tasting what I now know as Ghost pepper hot sauce..
I really had no idea what I was getting into.
I took a tooth pick and dipped it in, and sucked it clean.
Next 15 minutes that go by, i'm really on the verge of crying like a school girl.
Has anyone ever tasted anything hot like that before? How did your experience go?
Here is a video of a guy eating two spoonfuls of it. He must be possessed.. lol

Stick to the topic. This isn't OTD.
I'll ask my original question again. Has anyone ever tasted any peppers this hot before?

I plan to grow them next year.
No I've never had anything that hot, the hottest thing I've really ever had was whole habanero, but I ate it when I was like 12 or something and had no real tolerance to spicy food. I've ate a bunch (20+) of pickled tabascos once, by the last one my tongue wasn't really feeling the pepper burn, it just felt like someone had scraped a razor on it. I've tried to use that experience to judge what a nuclear pepper is going to be like since people say it doesn't burn, it just hurts.
What was the brand of sauce? Cuz I have ghost pepper ketchup, but it's been so diluted it's not really any hotter than a jalapeno or serrano. I have to wonder how diluted your hot sauce was.

I had some legit ghost pepper sauce that I bought from Central Market, and it had warning labels on the bottle to keep it in a safe place and away from children. I was like damn, this is some serious shit.

Yes. And the bottle I tried today said people who have heart problems or respiratory problems shouldn't use it.

yeah i had this ghost pepper sauce about a month ago. my whole family are hot sauce junkies. so at this get together my brother in law busted out his collection of hot sauces and I saw this one called, da bomb? lets do it!!!
so we all poured it on our food. no toothpick. just poured it on and ate it. then for the next 15 minutes we struggled to breathe, and paced around with that odd look of urgency but were actually just going in circles. it was the second worst hotsauce experience ive ever had. the winner was with pepper spray hot sauce though.

I had a buddy who was growing them and brought some over for me and a few friends to try. I think it had really good flavor but holy fuck! I like really spicy things and that was just too much, it's not so much that it burnt my mouth but it wrecked my stomach, it sort of felt like I was going to puke. Shit was intense.

Nowhere near as hot as the Trinidad Scorpion Pepper, but plenty hot
The ghost pepper is not only hot but delicious. As uber hot peppers go, it is my favorite, as it has actual flavor along with spice.
LOVE it. And yeah, it will make a heat lover cry like a child.

I've ate a ghost pepper on a few occasions. They're indeed pretty damn spicy, but I like spicy food and actually enjoy the "high" or buzz I get from spicy food or peppers like the ghost pepper.
They seem to cause a huge release/rush of endorphins & adrenaline...After eating the pepper the intensity of the burning/pain increases for a few minutes then eventually goes numb and I'm left feeling really really good for 15 maybe 30 minutes or longer.
A while back my buddy had a bag of ghost peppers...Like I said, I love spicy food so I'd willingly nibble on these things through out the night (and ghost peppers have really good flavor). Sometimes when there were some heads over and folks were having a few beers & bowls, I enjoyed asking other people that haven't tried them to eat some, I would tell them I'd eat at least as much as they do....Some people got tore up because of me doing that , not really knowing what they're getting themselves into....Sweating profusely, face red, tears rolling down their face, then they start licking their lips and wiping their face only spreading the capsaicin around (I told them not to do this). I kinda felt bad when I did this to a couple people in particular, but they survived . An hour later they were looking a lot better.
I'm actually growing some bhut jolokia (Ghost pepper) plants at the moment. Over the past year or three there's been a new hotter pepper/strain, the Scorpion Pepper or something like that. I believe it has the potential to be twice the scoville units as the ghost pepper. I think I'll pass on that one...er maybe just a tiny nibble.

It is much spicier, can literally blister you if you eat too much.
I have tried it. It is hot as fuck. The heat comes on faster and leaves sooner than a ghost, but the flavor is kinda disappointing. For all its heat, a ghost has a smokey flavor with an evolving burn. I love ghosts. Scorpions, not so much. Scorpion is an apt name though.
