UK Lawn ID, Cinct/Foe?
    #18717875 - 08/17/13 06:17 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
Lawn/grass

Gills:
Dark brown

Stem:
1-3 inches length, off-white at clean parts, hollow/brittle, NO clear 'barber pole lines' going up it

Cap:
1-3 inches, tan colour, browner in middle and on edges now dry

Spore print color:
Spore print I did lastnight looked black but faint (like it hadn't been left long enough) so i'm doing another.

This is the first (faint, and badly photographed) one:

Bruising:
Appeared to be brown

Other information:

Smells kinda like feet /:

My parents are going away today so I can't really get hold of the big camera, as it's being packed.

Cheers for any help.

As I said no obvious bruising, looked more like red/brown bruising than blue. No barber pole lines up the stem either.

They seem not to offer any 100% obvious characteristics for ID xD

It's been like 14 at night upto at most around 22 midday some days.

Still been plenty of rain. When I picked these last night it was after a pretty much full day of sunshine, hence I think why they are so tanned (aswell as dirt lol).

If I put them in a mug, they go upto the top of the handle and they're dry. From an inexperienced eyeballer perspective I'd say I have an eighth or just less.

I'm from Manchester in the UK, if that's any help

At a google they look extremely similar. Spore print says dark brown to black, so how do I distinguish between them and subs? I really wish i'd kept a couple fresh.

I highly doubt that's what they are and how are they looking dry? take a new picture.

Note: Where I say the middle and edges are darker, I mean like a tan in the middle and a thin dark line on the very edge of the cap, not a 'band' like these:

So you don't think they're subs now? Should I toss em?

Here's a picture (or two) of the dry specimens:

One of the main reasons I picked em is cause they reminded me of some of the examples i'd seen in this thread http://www.shroomery.org/9608/A-Guide-to-Hunting-and-Identifying-Panaeolus-cinctulus
