Tea time minus the krumpets
    #1871612 - 09/01/03 05:15 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

.7g Coca leaves with a slice of lemon squeezed in.

Leaves added to boiling water in a coffe cup that's just slightly larger than normal.

Effects, subtle but pretty noticable. My goal was to use the Coca much like the Indians/Pakistanis/Hindus use Pan (herbs and candy wrapped in a Piper Betel leaf) to aid in digestion and regain energy after eating. It did just that, most likely placebo. My stomach felt kinda distended and full, I ate a big breakfast at 1pm. Bacon, Toast, Pancakes, 2 Eggs over-easy.

I now feel relaxed but alert, I don't consider it to be like coffee, but i could see how that's pretty much the only thing one could compare it to. It's like coffee but without all the nasty effects and sludgy taste.

All in all i consider it a good coffee alternative, as I don't like coffee.

I did a set of vital signs to gauge any physiological effects.

BP: no sphygmomanometer so no reading
Pulse: 62
Body: sorta sweaty, it's kinda warm and the water was warm, that's probably why.

Dried leaves, and no they're not decocanized as i've tried a quid with a lime substitute and it caused some good numbness of th emouth..

I also think decocanised leaves are a myth.
