I am new to the forum and this is actually my first post. I have a question about fungi that sprouted up in my poppy garden. Are they edible or medicinal!?
I live in Southern California and these started coming up when planted a garden of poppies and started watering them everyday. If I am not posting in the right place or if I am doing something incorrect I apologize in advance. Pics:

Wow its really hard to say what those are. They look like a Lactarius species, which would ooze a latex-like milky substance from the gills if they were sliced. Also, it reminds me a little of Lyopyllum species.
-------------------- Species List (Georgia): Psilocybe caerulescens/weilii, Psilocybe atlantis/galindoi, Psilocybe cubensis, Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata, Psilocybe caerulipes, Psilocybe semilanceata, Psilocybe fagicola, Copelandia cyanescens, Panaeolus cinctulus, Panaeolus fimicola, Panaeolus olivaceus, Gymnopilus luteofolius, Gymnopilus aeruginosus, Gymnopilus junonius, Pluteus salicinus (Ohio): Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata, Psilocybe caerulipes, Pluteus cyanopus, Pluteus salicinus sensu lato..., Panaeolus cinctulus, Gymnopilus luteus, Gymnopilus luteofolius, Gymnopilus junonius, Gymnopilus aeruginosus

I don't know what those are but i will do some research, Thanks! They feel pretty hard and sturdy to the touch. I don't know if that helps.

Google those species and see if they resemble what you've got. Can we see a good pic of the gills?

They aren't deadly or anything... Go ahead and pull one up, get a photo of the gills, and try slicing across them with a knife to check for the latex.

Okay, as asked here are some better pics. No milkiness when I sliced it open and the stems seem to be hallow:

Compare with Hygrocybe virginea.
