o.k finally i'm starting my grow i have 9 jars in the cooker at 15 psi for 60 min. Now my only 2 questions are 1. how much is the cooker regulator soppost to rock? 2. Also how much water should be in the cooker i put 1.5 in. is that enough? or did i need more (16quart cooker).
and a specail thanks to a cool dude on the shoomery who gave me the spore print to start this grow i don't know if this person wants me to say there user name or not ,but they know who they are.
peace out will post update as soon as something happens

1: the rocker usually gently bobs around, but id check your manual. 2: I put my water up about half way the side of my jars.
hope this helps, good luck and happy growing

id like to know what most experienced growers say about this, specially the water thing.
i think i read somewere that too much water in the pc could bring problems with sterilization, as the steam is the one that does the work, so the jars souldnt be standing on water.
i wish you the best of lucks on your growing.

I fill my 21 qt PC like an inch or so maybe less and then raise the rack by putting jar lid rings below it. Keeps the jars out of water and can still fit plenty of jars

Yeah water half way up the jars is too much. Only need an inch or so. Turn your heat on high then when you the weight rocks turn it down to med or med low. You want the weight to barely rock or you'll boil out all your water

make sure the water isnt so high that it boils/steams up your foil otherwise the foil is pointless and your grain (or whatever) might get wet.
i think the amount of water you need is strictly based on the fact you dont want it to all evaporate (big no no) and dont want it to 'crawl' up your foil.
goodluck

thats unfortunate. did you let the jars cool down after you inoculated them? You didnt even get contams? Was there enough moisture?
I wonder what went wrong.
