I owned an 88 944 turbo for a little while several years back. It was actually free since the clutch was gone on it and it was parked at one of the warehouses I was renting. The tenant stopped paying rent, so I had to evict him, and he never came back for the car.
Anyways. Even though the car was free, it was a money pit man. Every part for that car was so expensive. The clutch alone was around 1800 if I remember correctly. I kept it for a few months, then sold it to break even with the money I put into it.
I'm just trying to tell you to be careful with old Porsches. Good luck.

My girlfriend has one. I'll have to ask what she has. I have never been that big on cars.

I used to look at early to late 80's ones on eBay in high school and all but fap to them. $4000... you could realistically get a Porsche for your first car! rool:

No offense but if your going to send the money get something worth it, porches were beautiful, nice sports cars. But they're waaaaaaay over rated, and because of that, the dealers gunna try to get as much money out of you as possible for plastic and cheap metal..... Plus you crash in one of those at 100-190, absolutely no chance you'll live.
Look up Ryan dunno car crash... It wasn't a corvette, it was a Porsche
This is all an opinion, i hope you find a car your happy with
But seriously, I'd go with an Audi

I dated a girl whose father owned a really nice classic Porsche (sadly I can't remember the model).
He had a test to see if the boys that were dating his daughter were worthy of her. He came into their theater room (basically a movie theater in a house)(fuck, I should have married her now that I think about it), but either way, he came in and disrupted our movie viewing. He asked me if I wanted to take it for a test drive. My jaw dropped. I had eyeballed that car, so many times, wishing for the chance to just sit in the passenger seat. But this was my chance to actually drive the beast!
Well, I sadly declined his offer, because I found it disrespectful to my lady to just dip out on her like that just to drive a car. Just to drive a car... when I say it like that it just sounds dumb. It was so much more than a car, and I never got the chance to drive it again.
Later I found out that yeah, it was just a test. He never would have actually let me drive it. But for one hot second, I felt like a 6 year old kid on Christmas again. Boy do I miss that feeling.

If you crash any car at 190 km/h you're dead. What's your point?

There's only one car that you could possibly survive a 190 mph crash in...
And that's a God Damn Volvo!

Why not buy an older model? I found a 96 corvette for $5,000. I would have bought it, but I don't have the money right now.

Beware somecar dealerships are selling fake models of expensive cars to pass through as legitimate. My uncle owns a car dealership in London & he has customers that are always looking for the next release of a shiny car. The customers get into arguments about why they can't buy the older ones which are in the parkinglot, but those are specifically there for older gentleman to purchase. The youth are cut off from buying any of the older cars since the old people have the owners all paid off and the decisions have already been made for them. The cars are protected by the elderly rights movement which included the ability to rent a car & then give it back for as long as a week. The youth would start to protest against having to lose the ability to purchase a car from the older cars, and would plot to find wher the elderly men stay and sabotage their h omes. If you are seeking to find a new car you will have to locate the name of a car dealership in town to find the number to make the call. You can open the telephone book to find whatever number you need to contact whomever. Sometimes when you open that big book you will find the numbers are so out of place that you won't know where to begin. I always ask someone to help me while I'm looking for the number to call, but we usually find it after 10 minutes and can get them on the line. Hope I helped.

You have a hard-on for shitty vehicles. Like Kron said, old Porsches will eat your money. I'd just avoid buying one altogether, and I like fixing vehicles.

I think the poster said 190kmh so around 115-120mph if I remember my conversions right. Still, crashing a car at 120 (especially a car from the 80's) you're going to get somewhat if not really badly injured...
Edit: Brokentv, I love watching sleeper grandma cars like that Volvo just booking it. I remember getting burnt by a Pontiac Montana (minivan) in a 1/4 mile while driving a 99 Eclipse GSX on 12Lb's of boost that ran high 12's - low 13's in the 1/4.

Yeah, I think you better know your shit when it comes to repairs if you're planning to buy a high performance vehicle older than you are, lol.
I found out I wasn't a car guy when I drove my friend's late 90s sports car. I thought it was loud and obnoxious.

A nice sports car doesn't have to be (and shouldn't be) loud and obnoxious. Most kids these days just enjoy their cars to sound like shit.

Yeah most of the youth will expel themselves from the opportunity to revamp their system to higher possibilities. If they could invest themselves into some kind of deal where the car would remain as much as an equal requirement as themselves, then you would find minimum amount of noise distortion. You can make the car effective by simply going over to the hood and repairing the wires. You might need to obtain a tool to apply it to the wires for the change to take place, and its more easy than you think, sometimes you won't even have to roll up your sleeves to start working on the thing.
