i bitch about solvent and lab safety constantly. generally speaking, no one cares.
in this case, see a doctor. tell em ya refinish alot of old furniture or something. get checked out.
for future reference, dont play with solvents unless ya are aware of what they are, have serious fire supression equip, and vac pumps.
odds are youll survive the exposure, no telling long term effects though.
i would hope peeps read these safety warnings. i doubt it though.

You're asking questions that no one but a doctor can really answer.
Have you ever tested for fertility? For all you know, you might have already been infertile. With pollution and all that, sperm count in men is rapidly decreasing.
The best advice anyone reasonable can give you is to go get a check up, blood work sucks, but you'll have a clear conscience. Plus you're from Canada, so it's not like you're going to have to pay like crazy for a check up.
If it'll make you feel better, most people develop cancers after way more than 2 years being exposed to a certain element, I mean, it's not like you were exposed to radiation or anything!
Best of luck anyway, I'm sure it's nothing

The average cigarette smoker takes in like 2mg benzene a day. Benzene is in TONS of stuff. It's a known carcinogen, but everyone is exposed to it all the time. I bet that the amount of benzene you've been exposed to is small.
You'll be fine, just try to limit your exposure.

For the fertility test, you're probably going to need to give a sample of your mycellium to the doctor for him to inspect it.

dude. I think you're over-reacting a little, you read all in a hurry and it feels panicked. Firstly, Im sure you're going to be fine. Heck, I ingested Chloroform when I was a fucked up twenty something, have drunk naptha with failed Diphenhydramine extractions and still ok. I enrolled in a HIV Vaccine programme and they tested me to the max. I had elevated white cells which could indicate Leukemia but after re-test proved to be a passing mild infection. Needless to say, I completed the paid drug trial and I got paid. Life is what it is! Don't regret your past, embrace the fact YOU got to live it. You're the one in charge, so don't doubt it.
The body can do alot of abuse ALOT.
It's why you're here today - Millions of years of Ancestry and YOU survived. Becoming Neurotic is just futile.

Don't believe everything you read
The doctor will interpret you as crazy if you walk up to him with that
I've been working with carcinogen stuff for a while with bare hands etc(at my old work, all kinds of hardeners), I'm not dead yet
and also washing hands in organic/ solvents sometimes/often (paint thinner, gasoline etc)
no problems yet (my dad has too for over 30 years)
go to the doc when you experience problems
everything is a carcinogen, then you should go to the doc too if you smoked a cigarette in the weekend, for it is proven to cause cancer stopping your exposure is what will save you, not the doctor...
no access to pure chems is the reason I haven't extracted DMT myself from rootbark yet... sounds hard to find the right chems in pure enough form you never know what is in them, sometimes they add stuff to the chems and don't list it, as it isn't for chemical reactions (not chemical lab purity)
btw... I would use gloves for most stuff myself if I was to extract anything even hash extraction you need good ventilation for!, it is dangerous (people have died due to their house blowing up from the fumes) if you extract anything you must know what you do and the hazards associated..! (good basic chemistry knowledge)

wow, a cavalier attitude toward known toxic solvents.
everyone can relax, safety assured now, now that a few carelessly exposed , have assured us MSDS is for loosers......
when your doctor asks why your liver looks like your a 200 yr old, 3 -5ths a day alkie, and your 35 yrs old, take a moment to remember all the chem sloshing bucket teks , your friends taught ya, and ignored safety practice.
this is exactly, why me and other peeps familiar with chem labs, refuse to advise........... the peeps who know the score on these things, realize it all comes down to you guys and buckets and fans.
serious pros, dont wanna be responsible , for this exact type of thread.
see a doctor dude, and learn modern safety practice. or, suffer as many novices do, from their own creations. choices are easy, flash fire, or slow toxic poisioning,
encouraging chem hackery, among the least informed, is hazardous to the community, and IMO, not cool at all.

I burped naphtha once on an early dxm recrystallization extraction last year...
At that time,(no knowledge of chemistry), I wasn't aware that you aren't supposed to touch the naptha while its evaporating. I tried scraping it early and it turned to this weird goo.
After days it remained like goo...and smelled like menthol so I thought it was done...I put it in capsules and consumed.
Yuck. Burped naphtha...never again will I tamper with the patient process of extractions. There were probably plenty of naphtha molecules engraved within the dxm crystals, which caused the effect.
I also gt motor oil splatter all over me once when I was mowing the lawn.
I'm explaining my ignorant experiences using carcinogenic chemicals for a reason: your body can handle it, although the body is unpredictable. Some people smoke for decades and never get cancer, whereas some people never smoke and get lung cancer You're thinking to much about it yo.
I'm certain you will be ok. IMO, exercise and lots of antioxidants will remove your beliefs on the "damage" you have done. Just wear gloves, wait out the layer separations, and do a NaCO3 wash to get rid of any other impurities before the final pull. Safety is key!
If you take chemistry classes in college, you are prone to success. It shows you great handling techniques, and proper set up of equipment. Can't wait til Organic chem
Also, be green and reuse your chemicals by washing and storing.
I still have to wash my limonene from this weeks' extractions. gonna to it today.

I got a good huff from chlorine a few weeks ago in my kitchen
I couldn't understand why I got extremely dizzy and my vision faded everytime I went into my kitchen (like not fully awake, had to lay down, weird visuals too)
happened 3 times
then I found out it twas the large bucket filled with chlorine(and had added stuff with dish detergent in it - must have reacted somehow - it has acid in it), couldn't smell it as there were ventilation out there
after going outside my vision came back each time and I felt better/much less dizzy, when I went outside the apartment for ½ min or so
after I moved it outside I could, the smell was in the whole house for many hours (could hardly be in the house, it did sting my eyes etc.)
don't use too much/almost pure chlorine for cleaning
it has happened to me before I remember now, had a cleaning cloth with chlorine in my garbage bin in my living room and slept, then my vision faded like that too and it smelled a lot
inhaling fumes is a bad idea, even if you got ventilation be careful
