Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!”

Yeah.... never.......
Think of all the bad things that could happen, like eating 5 pan cyans straight out of a patty and then not being able to return home in the pitch dark for 6 hours.
Because that's never happened to me, ever.....

I reckon that a risky business, as visual senses are not only heightened but also
distorted. I have a vague memory of a member here doing something like that,
ending up mistaking Galerina marginata for an active Gymnopilus sp.,
after claiming the mushrooms "told" him to pick and eat them - with a subsequent
hospitalization as result.

I always eat the first Sub of the season I find out in the field but I leave it at that, with a big Thankyou to nature and I a little word to the mushroom gods along the lines of guiding to me a great safe season. It's just something I've always done with a lot of respect.

I've read those posts. The most ridiculous part of all of it was the doctors, nurses, basically all the medical staff and that whole system. So stay safe, stay healthy, and god forbid you have to rely on our healthcare system!
