How long after a hard rain does it generally take for liberty caps to appear?

Because It rained hard today at about 5 in the afternoon and I was thinking about going there tomorrow at 10 - 11. I went there today and it was dry so I didn't expect to find anything in my usual spot other than horses and a pony which I attempted to ride, foolish really because I could of got K.O'd. But anyway, how long after heavy rain in mushroom season does it take for mushrooms to appear?

If you want to find mushrooms, you should learn what habitat the species you want to find grows in. Then hunt as often & long as possible in every place you can think they may grow in.

I know this spot has shrooms. I picked one the other night and dried it out an ate it and I was mildly tripping on just one.

Needs lower temps to get the ball rolling in my books. Have seen them around in August before but not often. Mind you I rarely look this early. Consider making sure what you ate is indeed P. Semiceleta. If I bother to hunt them I wait until temps hit the low 50's to mid 40's every other night. Find them even in below freezing temps at times as well. Figure the low temp is part of their trigger to even begin fruiting.
As for tripping off of one P. Semiceleta , I highly doubt it. My ultra mild (preferred) dose is around 20, dried.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: Hunting Forum Rules: 5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather. This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting. As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.
