Rooting lophophora williamsii cutting

I have to admit, I am novice with lophophora cuttings.
cutting was size +1" or maybe more when I have taken it. Some of them have growed from very small button to size like in picture with grafting. Now I decide it's time to get them rooting by them selves and I can get grow lophophora like it should do.. with own roots.
Any advice are welcome.
I have dried these buttons from cut surface, then I have left them to sit to pot where is rocky/sandy soil mix. I have not watered them.
So question: Is it ok to care lophophora cuttings like another cactus? How do I start watering when small roots starting to form from bottom of buttons? I think I grow them over winter with artificial light and keep growing/rooting time to next spring, after fall 2013, I start to keep winter-summer cycle for these little one.
What you fellow loph growers think, how long I have to wait to get them blooming? How long roots formation takes?
These have been on these pots to wait rooting ~10days
Two cuttings are taken from bubs from older peyote, some of them is cultivated on top of the columnar to get them to size ~1inch. One cutting is cultivated to that size is lophophora williamsii v. caespitosa. Another cuttings are from actual peyote. Do I give some moisture to cuttings after they have make roots? Is my sand and rock mix good for rooting peyote buttons?
Thanks if you can help me with this too

Treat like you would any other cactus cutting. Dry soil, warm, and after a month or two when roots are growing bottom water to promote more growth and start with a little bit of water to avoid splitting and rotting. I've seen a member use straight moler with great success, not sure who it was I'll try to find it.

what modern said.
it takes my trichos about 1 month to have root buds, 2 months to have a decent little system. I'd say up root the peyotes at a month and a half and check for buds. shouldnt hurt them to check, then you can just put them right back in the soil and they're happy

wow i didn't even see that i posted the original thread
FYI i have removed from that soil set up - now sitting in nice mix in small clay round pots, no varying layers of material. that was a bad idea although no harm caused to plant. i found that the rock layers remained very cold during winter and i didn't want that to cause a problem. and i also read it's pointless to do layers anyway as a homogenous mix throughout the pot drains better

Always do a soak test on any cat litter as some of the brands will just turn into mush. I soak and rinse of all clay and DE / moler products that I use.
Cheers Got

I have sold these to my friend times ago. Cut them away from bigger peyote cactus then root and sold for good price. I have limited space so selling/trade of plants is very common with my way to collect and grow 'em. Ofc some plants I keep myself. I have done small business and trade with another collector where peyote is legal.
They took kinda long time to root for some reason, over 2-3 months. But I have heard coconut coir would be better material to root a button. Something was not right on these cause it took very long time to root or they was just full of water or something.. Dunno but rooting takes long time.
I have only one button from these in picture my self and it's actually growing as grafted. It is this:

This has grown very rapid growth and seems pupping from center of button is stopped. Will see how long it takes to this grafted plant starts to get normal instead of that kind of growth what is actually very interesting to follow. Don't remember the exact date when I graft the button instead of waiting it rooting but at this fall it's about 12months old graft.
