Misting and Pinning
    #18708610 - 08/15/13 11:04 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Gotta a question here

Once my cake start to show little tiny pins, should I be misting the cakes?
Does misting help in the pinning process ...

Please do not bump your post for 24 hours.  Edit it if anything.

Yes, mist.

Bump means post in it again to bump it to the top of the forums.

And yes mist but don't get water droplets directly on it.

  Mist the cakes directly with a fine mist until they glisten, fanning out the chamber after each misting.

Mist again once the water you previously applied has evaporated.

Hacker,
The pins are really really tiny.
So still mist the vermiculite anyways correct?

also, is the fanning taken care of by itself in my SGFC?

Yes.

No, fan out the chamber after every misting.

This makes room for evaporation to happen.

just mist 3-4 times daily. mist the sides of the sgfc and the top..mist from the top and let the mist fall onto the cakes. fan for 10-15 seconds everytime after misting. and that's all you gota do. next thing you know youll have great shroomies

also yes mist the perlite. because it well keep it kinda damp which will produce more humidity in the chamber.

What exatlcy does this do?

Do the walls and the top grow?

Mist the cakes to replace lost moisture in them, this will also get the perlite wet..

No need to mist the plastic tub.
