Will leaving "stumps" block new mushies from growing?

So while I was harvesting the first flush from my first tub, I was just ripping the mushies up carelessly leaving big craters in the substrate. Luckily it recovered and I got a nice 2nd flush too.
For my 2nd tub, I wanted to try and not damage the substrate so bad so I decided to use a scalpel (no scissors small enough) but its so thick in there that I cant cut them off without leaving little stumps. Will new mushies grow from these stumps or will they only grow around them leaving a lot less space for fruiting?

You can and should leave the stumps if you are snipping.
Pins will form around and sometimes even on them as the mycelium consumes it.
Those divots though, that's where molds like to germinate.
Do you have a liner in your tub?

Yes sir. How close to the sub should I try to get the stumps? Some of them are up to 1/2" tall, I cant get them any closer without damaging the younger fruits around them.

This sounds like a good problem to me.

Post a picture?
If your liner is thick, you can (carefully) pull the whole substrate out of the tub. This makes harvesting at sub level a breeze.

Well the liner is short on one side because I didn't unfold the trash bag enough. I may be able to get it out though. If not once the smaller fruits mature I guess I could trim the stumps down more.

Can you post a pic?
If you have a few "early bloomers" just decapitate them and print (or eat) the caps, then when the rest of the fruits are matured or aborted you can take them all.
Don't try to pull that sub out with a trash bag liner. I use 5mil plastic sheets cut to size. Any time I've tried with a trash bag, it tears.

Kind of embarrassing but here you go. I know they're small, and unfortunately I have 16 more spawn jars of these. I got carried away with g2g before I even grew the first batch out. They're pretty potent and meaty though, especially the 2nd flush.

I took this pic after I already filled up 3 trays in my dehydrator, it was a lot thicker.

You grew yourself some fine food, nothing to ever be embarrassed about my man...if I had any pictures of my first grows, you would realize you did a pretty straight badass job by comparison
Those need more FAE to my eyes. Lots more. That is most likely why you have small fruits like that.
Loosen your top holes up (very little poly) and stuff the bottom holes as tight as you can, they should be tight like a balled-up sock feels and take a bit of effort to stick in the holes.

They are as loose and tight as I can get them, top so loose its barely staying in. Im growing in a big closet so they're probably not getting enough constant FAE, but I fan them out 4-5 times a day and rapidly open/close my closet door to get fresh air in there. I think it may just be genetics but you know a lot more than me. The last (smaller) tub was exactly the same until the 2nd flush. They still weren't real tall, maybe 4" max but the stems were huge and the caps were a good 3" across.

We'll figure it out
Are you running a fan in the closet? Could you if you tried?

Yeah I have a little hepa air purifier running in there but even at max it doesnt put out much air, thats why Ive been fanning the tubs. I just now put a box fan in there too maybe that will help.

I was going to suggest running the hepa filter and taking one of the top holes poly completely out. This will give you a great FAE boost.
You don't want to blast the air around in there with a box fan, it's going to kill your conditions. Too small a room for that.

Ok thanks I'll take it out. Just to give you an idea, my closet is 5' wide, 10' long.
