My first monotub pins! (Cambodian) (8/18-19 update)

Used WBS in pint jars, spawned to a mix of coir, verm, and gypsum. First really full pins are coming in and I can't wait to see more! Let me know what you guys think..Still working on dialing everything in. I'll post more updates once they get larger!
I noticed on cakes from the same spores that the pins develop "freckles" on their caps (little white spots). Is this a genetic thing?

THE FIRST FRUITS! 8/16 One of these guys has already busted his veil, should I just snatch him out really gently? The other large overachievers are also getting very very close! It's so exciting to watch them grow, I want to clone one of the REALLY large ones in that main cluster, the forming caps are seriously like ping pong balls!

8/18-8/19 Update!
More pictures of a fuller, completely unveiled flush
I printed most of the largest ones and cloned the biggest fella into some LC Here's some of the fattiest fruits!

Woke up the other morning to even more
and even some new pins for the second wave! Harvest so far is ~70g dry but I'll update that number once the dehydrator is finished!

Those "fawn spots" are one of my favorite features of some cubes, it is genetic.
Looking good!
Did you dial in your tub tight poly on the bottom and very loose on top, fan running 24/7 facing away from the tubs?

Thanks Wing, Thanks Frank! It's been one of the most rewarding hobbies I've ever had.
I definitely stuffed those holes up good (Thanks for the polyfill guide, I took note of the info) and the fan is running in the room.
I know side pins tend to detract from the overall flush but I didn't tape the bottom of my tub. Should I tape it now? After the fact? I don't notice excessive side pinning but I see at least a few.

Don't bother, it won't stop side pins. They form because of a humid little pocket it creates as the substrate shrinks.
I wasted so much tape and then found out a liner works great...you can also remove the whole block carefully and harvest this way as well. Just make sure to use a THICK liner, mine are 5mil plastic sheets cut to size.

WOW that's an amazing pic! Seems really convenient too...I'll definitely have to try it on my next tub. Kind've an amateur question but since you have the ability to lift the block out with a liner like that, do you ever re-dunk between flushes? I know a monotub is basically self sufficient but would it be beneficial?

Nah, I just mist heavily once a day for my second flush while increasing my FAE.
Dunking never really gave me benefits like I thought it should with bulk. With proper misting and more fresh air I get 2-4 ounces second flush no problem.
If you feel your substrate has dried up too much, just pour a small pitcher of water around the sides and mist the hell out of the top. Tilt the tub and carefully drain the excess 2-4 hours later.
And that pinset is ok..you should glance through my clone thread that is linked in my link list. And the PE thread. Those are some nice flushes

Added pictures of the new fruits that are starting to come up! Should I pluck out the ones ready right away?

Just curious of what your time line was from spawning your sub, to 100% colonization, to pins.
I'm on day 11 from spawning to sub was at 100% a day or two ago and am patiently waiting to see some pins.
It sucks I'm off for over a week and its like waiting for water to boil. I'm hoping to be able to get my grub on before my vacations over.

It was about eight days from spawning before my sub was 100%, there were actually pins on it that day (those four really fat ones) so I fruited it right away..maybe two days later I had the smaller pins popping up!
My first harvested fruit was about three an a half grams wet, probably going to print those huge guys today once they pop.
Thanks pkilly, couldn't have done it without shroomery!

Frank: you don't ever dunk between monotub flushes? how much water do you pour?

excellent job, especially for your first time. i have been having great success with cambodian monotubs, as well. you should try to get a picture with the entire tub in frame.
