I've not been out as much as usual this season- too much other stuff going on, but been out a couple of times in the last week in mid Wales. There's no libs out now really high in the hills, but still plenty coming up below 300 metres. Numbers should tail off slowly now until the first deep frost, but given good conditions the prospects are still good. Keep looking

Just wanted to mention I picked some big guys today I was away for a few days and was thinking I SHOULD BE HUNTING MEOW! Tomorrow is hopefully going to be a good day to hunt.. I found the nicest fields only recently and I heard frost isn't far away now, so I gotta get out as often as I can now and get some dried for later in the year. Think ill purchase an vacuum coffee container and some silica gel! Hey actually, could someone experienced maybe start a UK/IRL Cyan thread?? Id love to find some this year, it would make my life!

The Chronic said: Yeah, although it appears the peak has somewhat passed for most spots the season is far from over
Agree with this. Its funny how certain spots produce early and others late. Even where there only a few miles apart.
I went and checked two of my spots today that were producing results at the end of September and through October and there's not a single Lib left. I picked 2000+ here tho so got a good haul
After that i went and checked another field i found a few weeks ago that had a few pins coming through and its absolutely jam packed full of Libs. I picked 250 of the biggest but left 20 times more pins. It was absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't walk for fear of crushing them. There were literally clusters of them in there hundreds, I've never seen any thing like it. I estimate to pick 3000-4000 from this spot in the next week or so

I'm going to give them another week and then get back out there. Even tho i have enough now there's no point in letting them go to waste They can all be dried and stored.

This is my today picks - not to much, but I'm happy what I have. Its my first season in UK going a few times to field and picked 320 and I'd find time to eat it all

I wouldn't give up just yet. Especially in the south where the season tends to fun later into the year. There still out in force in certain spots.
I'm going to Devon tomorrow for the weekend so will be hitting up some new locations down there with my mate. Mainly for the adventure but we'll definitely be keeping an eye out for Libs

Hello hunters, went out today to a field I had some luck in earlier in the week to find the farmer had allowed his horses in it! I was not impressed, anyway I went out a bit further afield and came across a small field for dog walkers and horses etc. not exactly what I thought looked like lib territory but anyways I found what I presume to be p.strictipes...Well only two of them, I would have just passed them off as a Mycena species if I hadn't taken a closer look, they looked like wet libs, and they had i transluscent nipple but weird shaped caps can anyone else confirm or comment on what these are please? Here's the pics the last few are of them drying they dry like libs too!
 Any helps great thanks,
Also any word on these? Maybe some chanterelles or something?

Like I said any helps great, thanks guys
Peace out
