Cheers again Jole and ignore my question from last post. it's not an eater then Jole? and can anyone confirm puff balls are edible? wish i could have picked more balls but my back was bloody killing me and even bite size puff balls couldn't get me to bend down when libs were all around them.

odd thing with whitey is it looks more and more libby as it's drying, it's not fragile though Jole, certainly no more than the others i picked today. i'll try and get a pic in the morning in natural light although it'll be dryer but i'll add a lib of the same batch and something to compare it size. cap wasn't slimy by the way. again, thanks Jole, nice to have my haul verified(as far as you can from a pic) and proves my eye is still reliable after all these years!

I can't ID the species of puffball so small - a shot from the side might help but I won't swear it. Anyway the rule for all puffballs is if you slice through and it is white and puffy, it is good to eat. That one doesn't look like it has too much fluff on the skin, which is good. They do look smooth so I'll venture if there were giant ones about then they are definitely Giant Puffballs.
This mushroom shouldn't be so hard, it just happens to be a little overlit. Drier won't be easier, what will be easier is a really good shot or two of the cap taken in Macro mode.

Joie, cheers for that! Yea, 100% on the pelicle. I figured they were psychoactive, they felt incredibly similar to libs, very tough little mushrooms. I put them in to one of my lizard tanks when the lights had just gone off to try and draw any potential larvae out of them with the dry heat (none luckily, I've lost a lot of libs to them so far this season!) and they've now turned a creamy white colour just like P. semilanceata. Do you happen to know any more about these Joie? I'm very intrigued but can't seem to find much information online. Would they be rarer/less known than libs?

If they were blueing I'd have been excited and proffered Psilocybe, but Deconica is the genus for inactive mushrooms that have been split off from Psilocybe. As for which species, we could rule out a group with non-peelable, dry caps but that still leaves a number of options. It can be narrowed down to two or three species if you can say if they were growing directly in shit or directly from herbacious debris, but then you're looking at spores to ID it.

Those shrooms look cool on the mirrors.. haha. Trippy!
I've kinda felt the same this season with the Libs i've picked. Now i have two fields that produce 1000's its become to easy. I'm an out door's kinda person so the hunt is always a great part of it for me. I literally walk for miles. Not just looking for Libs but studying all mushrooms i come across.
I've actually left my spots over the last week to hunt new ground (not that i need to) i just love the walking and the adventure In the process i've found another 3 fields that are producing actives in abundace
Yeah, I was enjoying the mirror vibes too - it was all I had lying around that was big enough to lay them all out on, but the visual effect turned out to be a nice bonus They're nice and crispy now so have jarred them up today - 780 exactly. Not bad for 2 hrs work Totally agree with you on the enjoyment of being outdoors and the thrill of the hunt. Still, I'm off walking again this weekend and it'll be nice to be able to enjoy the sky and the scenery and not be checking the ground every few paces!
Peace

What changed? Just the weather not cooperating like she used to? How many do you find in an average day's run now?

8itlove, no offence but I don't think what Corsyadid has is strictipes. They appeared to be growing on dung. I had thought possibly Psilocybe fimetaria, but no blue staining as Joie has pointed out

Hi Joie. I was about to throw those mushrooms out that I found yesterday, however, I'm noticing some bluing on the stems of several of them! And the spore prints I took came out looking very purple with hints of brown. Would you still stick with your identification and that they aren't active?

No I wouldn't. The spores will be purple brown either way. Please post an ID request thread with shots of everything including blueing because that is interesting, and if I was wrong I apologise!

Decided to get out today in a great location armed with a fairly good camera and got some pics.
The first pictures of the scenery were actually taken last year, but as it's the same area i added them in.
I found Libs here last year but only about 10. This year theres alot more. I picked 60 but left most of them to give them a chance to spread as they were concentrated to one side of the field and i have enough now untill next season ..
ID on the last three welcome. The last one is a funky looking mutant
