Went out on my only foray of the year so far on Sunday and gathered these lot in 2hrs. Left more than I picked and only covered around 1/8th of the field. Could have scooped 1,000+ easy if I'd stayed all day but got more than enough for my needs for the year so thought I might as well knock off early and leave the rest to spread their spores.
Kind of miss previous years of multiple forays to different spots with much lower yields...now I've found this new field it's a bit like just rocking up and looting a supermarket!

Your mushrooms are in Coprinellus section Micacei, and might be Coprinellus micaceus. They are not psychoactive.

Those shrooms look cool on the mirrors.. haha. Trippy!
I've kinda felt the same this season with the Libs i've picked. Now i have two fields that produce 1000's its become to easy. I'm an out door's kinda person so the hunt is always a great part of it for me. I literally walk for miles. Not just looking for Libs but studying all mushrooms i come across.
I've actually left my spots over the last week to hunt new ground (not that i need to) i just love the walking and the adventure In the process i've found another 3 fields that are producing actives in abundace

Went out today and fuck all, all I found was some clitocybe, which I think are actually deadly.
One thing I also noticed was that in this location the farmer has been using fertilizer, does this mean liberty caps won't grow here?I think the only fields where it isn't used is in the horse fields, which is where I found a lot of clitocybe.

Plastic Tupperware containers, but my finds have been insignificant so far- it's laughable.
It's probably not 'best practice', but I would be happy to find some Libs first, and then worry about them being squashed or turning slightly black as a lesser concern.

A bumbag made from a single layer of woven acrylic, such as one I got in a £1 shop, allows a little airflow and doesn't soak. Capacity is limited on my one but libs are pretty small so I can get a couple of hundred in. You can probably find something larger of that ilk.

Is it north-facing? How long did it take you to pick them all? That's a large haul!

I'm in Norfolk, we don't have any hills.
Took me about an hour today, I got around 450 from the same field in around an hour on Sunday as well.

Well done Jim always nice to find a new hunter find some libs ! The intense feeling of excitement finding a new spot never goes away. When I find a new place it's like all the planets align. They are often highly beautiful places and have a gentle sense of magic in the air. It is indeed a wonderful thing to be involved in.
Never cease to amaze with a surprise... none when you expect them, loads when you don't. You can have an educated guess but the variables involved mean it has an element of luck and when you do find them adds to the special feeling. Also all libs spots have a slightly different character of libs, they reward you with a unique shape and style, like little lost friends. The season is turning and we have gone from that warm back end of summer feeling into the spooky, nip in the air stage.
Must get out again soon and it's great seeing people getting outdoors. People not finding.. change your tactics... nothing in sheep fields look in cow fields and vice versa. Nothing on north facing slopes, try southerlies, nothing in the middle of the field, then try the edges..just adapt and try new places. Go for places that are likely to have remian untouched for a long period of time (100's of years +) Sadly this can be quite time consuming both the initial research and trodding around. If you are not finding many mushrooms in the places you go, ditch them for now... and look for places where there are a wide variety of toadstools and mushrooms growing, you almost certainly stumble on libs after a scout around I have found.
I found out an interesting thing the other day... parallel lines on a satellite image do not necessary mean recent ploughing, these lines can be medieval and as such may still bear fruit. You really have to be in the field to know whats what.
Plenty of season to go as far as I can tell, just don't give up.
By the looks of some pictures there has been some heavy fruiting spots.

Thanks for the encouraging words. As a beginner the most important thing is not to give up,and one thing that keeps me going is having somewhere new and interesting to go.
I am reluctant to go back to the same locations I've tried already, though that's more psychological than rational. Overall the weather is a lot cooler and that probably helps.
Do people use a compass to find which was a hill is facing? Sorry if this question seems naieve!

No need for a compass, you can tell which way is north by the position of the sun (unless the weather is really bad of course).
