Where abouts in Ireland are you roughly, no exact location, just out of curiosity?
Haha im in the part where everyone takes hurling to serious! Where cats wear black and amber So im down in a valley, thought it would take longer for libs to get here but not at all, people were posting loads of finds in the UK before I found any, but they came eventually! Persistence is key
Had an amazing night last night... just wow, im so glad i became a part of this magical hobby!

Made a post Here if anyone would be so kind as to help me out. The season is ending soon and I'm panicking.
Searching in location's you call "known hot spots" are likely to be fruitless. If you've heard about it from some one, it's likely that every one has heard about it. If indeed the location did produce liberty caps at some point, the chance's of them being there for long are slim.
Try and look for new ground "unkown and unheard of" You will have a much better chance of finding what you seek. Once you find it keep it to your self and look after it and it should produce results for you year on year.
Keep looking and enjoy it, they are there. You just need to find them

Thanks people. i shall just have to keep searching.
Also i have a friend that's been hunting libs for years that told me to look on west facing slopes, but from searching on the web all it comes back with is south or north facing. hes not a very good friend so not sure if hes sending me in the wrong direction so he can go find them himself, or does the direction the field face not matter?

No, they don't grow natively amongst our dead tree stumps and forests. They grow on imported wood chips and mulch that happened to have spores or mycelium in/on them. Look in gardens, outside public buildings etc.

From my personal experience it doesnt matter. I've been to southwest facing hotspots.
