I'm hitting the fields and woods with a friend at 6bloodyam. We've been gathering field mushrooms, saffron milkcaps and various Russulas, and ignoring beefsteaks and honeys, and I've been picking libs as well. Tomorrow should be good for meadow waxcaps, they were starting to appear the other day but not in the abundance I expect to see. Just sharing. And going to bed.

8itlove, mate, please try to focus on the mushroom in your shots.
Sorry, I dont have a camera myself so I had to borrow one and take the shots in a rush.. its an awful camera to!
They were found in a field that previously had horses in it. As I said the weather has been warm after a little bit of rain. They were growing next to a track in a field in groups out of grass at the bottom of a forest. Il try to get a picture of them in there habitat tomorrow, also they have very pliable rubbery stems.

well, its not ideal. heard of Bisphenol-A? Its in most non-food-grade plastic and most of the food-grade too actually. Newspapers are really not good either, because theyre drenched in chemicals apart from the ink.
Now you wont die, but its not ideal . That would be maybe untreated unbleached "eco" paper, glass, plain untreated wood or metal.. like a clean baking tray. dont bake them though, not over 40c anyway ..

That's cool stuff, I've always wanted to get more into picking edibles; you've inspired me, this'll be the year!! I've definitely seen loads of field mushrooms about and I'm pretty sure I've seen some meadow waxcaps. Time to get myself a good edible mushroom book I think.

The crap in manmade stuff like plastic is toxic. Poo may have bacteria, but synthetic plastic is a lot worse than you even know.
"chemicals, such as bisphenol A (BPA), that affect the endocrine system and have been linked to developmental problems in humans." .. and has been linked to cancer, though research is not fully complete.

Yea, its a sterilant. Eugenics soft-kill approach for "population control" .. I understand some people not wanting to believe it. Not my problem really. But do the research first

OMG someone get me a gun so I can just shoot myself now before I die of boredom ,His mono tone voice makes me want a lower sperm count .Maybe we all need lower sperm count as the world is over populated. Good luck with your research on how to kill off the shroomery with your Youtube vids
You have more of a chance of catching rickets, salmonella, bubonic plagues, tapeworms or Lyme disease from the field mice while hunting then dying from anything linked to BPA .

I would just ask them to put the mushrooms on my pizza when they make it .

Thanks for that, mandrax360! That made my day.

So it's not worth the risk eating them then? They're dry now. :/ The second batch I put on card and I think that's okay? Here's my find from earlier:
Looking goood? :P

That's so good to know, I've looked for them for the last 4 years to no avail, and just while walking the dogs on a football field, I spotted this thing and knew straight away what it was, and I wasn't even looking for them.
Sweet
Happy days
