Psilocybe medullosa * 1
    #18690709 - 08/11/13 10:27 AM (10 years, 8 months ago)

Maybe P. silvatica/medullosa or P. pelliculosa

No bluing at least yet.
Soon gonna try to get prints, lets see if they drop any spores.

I dont think so. I think they could be, but the larger fruitbodies that are not growing from moss is a high indicator that it is not that species. These look like inactive pelliculosa of sorts, see the slight umbo, more mycenoid in the cap then the convex cap of D. montana, which also has hard striations. Its really interesting. The decaying spotting looks alot like what i get here on psilocybe species, mostly that of potent woodlovers (cyans) ect. its this spotting what i have in mind.

I would love to see where the collection was made, spore print, just on the off chance it is galerina, and microscopy,  If you have a scope i would start with the spores, then move to cystidia, mainly cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia. Measurements would be best.

Was the ground dry or swampy where you found these?

It was pretty dry no swampy at all.

Here is a last year finding, from different place however: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16806106/fpart/1/vc/1

Okay, cool. I was thinking of the possibility that this new find might be
one of the smaller Hypholoma sp. Yet a closer look on both finds
gives me the impression they are the same species. Are you planning to
get these scoped also?

Yes, Im planning to send some samples out.
These are Psilocybes for sure. Exactly the same kind of a stem and odor as in semilanceata.
Its August and these are out all ready, its gonna be a great year for mushrooms I think.

In macroscopic form this is a great match for Psilocybe atrobrunnea.

Take pics and post a new ID request. There are some really dangerous mushrooms that can look nearly identical to these.
