PC weight, supposed to rock?
    #1869474 - 08/31/03 11:23 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

My friend says when he fires up his AA921, it takes the temp control on the stove being nearly full blast to reach 15 psi. The weight just basically doesn't move, but steam is shooting out the whole time. It sometimes goes into a little spin back and forth, from side to side, but it never lasts more than a few seconds?

Plus, it is pretty damn loud.

Is this normal?

And how much water would you use? The manual says never less than 2 inches. On here it says use 1-1.5. What would Jesus do?

Oh yeah, and what action is it that actually sterilizes the grain? Is it the steam being forced into the jars? Or simply the pressure that build? Or a combination of both?

it is the heat that is generated inside the pc that kills off contams.

pressure allows more heat build up than an open pot.

i don't think any steam should get into the jars that would drive up your mositure content, it is the high temps that do the job.
