mycelium for consumption

Ive got a few questions on preparing mycelium for consumtion. Ive seemed to have gathered that the most efficient way is to just colonize rye grain and then run the mycelium off with acidic liquid like cranberry juice. is the acidic liquid a must? or can you just simmer the colonized grain and then strain and drink the resulting tea, or just eat the grain? which is most effecient? And on another note, is Colonizing rye grain the absolute easiest, best way to prepare mycelium for consumption? should I go with a different grain, or vermeculite and BRF perhaps? And one more thing, is it absolutely true that regardless of my medium, I need wait a couple weeks after full colonization for the mycelium to gain maximum potency? Thanks

yes...you should wait a couple weeks after full colonization...when the mycelium starts to fruit...to gain maximum potency...

What If you just made a BIG (like a quart) jar of karo/water mixture, then let the mycelium grow in there, then just eat/drink the resulting goop of mycelium and karo?
