Propane burners and BTU's
    #18676118 - 08/07/13 11:55 PM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Pressure cooker instructions say not to cook on a propane burner above 12,000 btus...

Is running a 55,000 BTU burner and 20% of its full capability the same thing as using
an 11,000 BTU burner? Or at least pretty close and therefore safe for PCing?

Yes.  But I'd go less than 20% just to be safe.

What kind of PC do you have.  Just curious as I don't recall seeing this in my manual for my all American. I cook on a 30,000 but cooker. I bring it up to heat and pressure at full blast but lower significantly after the fact

It's a 16qt presto. Yes I know, it sucks. I miss my AA941 but don't have the funds for another
one at the moment. But on the bright side I didn't have any problems running the presto on the propane burner

Why are you putting a 16qt on a big burner? Put it on the stove

What happened to your AA.  Those things are indestructible.
