Aren't a number of books of the bible actually traditional songs that eventually got written down?
If so, where is the music that goes with it. I want to hear the soundtrack to the bible.

Ba-bump-ba chee!
Psalms and the song of solomon would be songs, but the music is lost to us.
but thats ok because it would probably sound like the music to that stupid dredal song anyway.

I'm surprised that in the last 2 millenia noone has created music around the songs of Solomon.

As you may or may not know, Danny Carey, the drummer for Tool, set up his drums into proportions utilizing the circle and square of the New Jerusalem, and recommends as a device of protection and containment a thorough study and utilization of the underlying geometry of the Temple of Solomon for anyone who listens to Lateralus.
BTW, I know Soundmind knows this, but Passion was produced by the same guy as Lateralus.

Isn't Torah still sung? If so, that would take care of the first five books of the OT.

Yes, the Torah is still sung, and there is music to it. I think that the hebrew characters may even represent notes or something... but don't quote me on that.

hmmmm... heard years ago that some investigator noticed a similarity (identity?) between ancient babylonian musical notation & the "jots & tittles" that are found in hebrew scriptures, & even recorded some of the passages using the deciphered notes for determining melody lines...
