origami epitome
    #1866363 - 08/30/03 06:16 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I'd just like to say God Damn!

The caption under the picture reads:

Lo and behold! I think enough has been said about the ever increasing complexity of modern origami. I'm sure many are in awe of this Eastern Dragon created by Satoshi Kamiya. This model took me 3 weeks to fold, totalling up to over a 100 hours. Firstly, there was the drawing and enlarging of the crease pattern, followed by the cracking of it, and finally it's production. This majestic beast was folded from a single sheet of 1 metre square paper and stands at about 22 cm tall. It was my umpteenth attempt, which finally succeeded. The efforts and resources was too high a price to pay for the satisfaction. My advice is, don't try unless you are ready to sacrifice.

as seen here: http://megafest.sytes.net/wilco_sg/gl24.htm

and I thought I was badass for making a T-rex

Looks like somebody gots too much time on their hands. Neat lookin pieces of paper, but I'd rather masturbate with my time.

Well, okay- I don't masturbate that much, but you get my point.

I have a flash intro. If you have a slow connection, it can take a while to load.

If that doesn't work-

I'm not sure why, but for some reason my pics keep getting scaled down whenever I try to upload em...so I'll just toss in a few links so you can see it right from the source.

The original dragon pick I posted:
http://megafest.sytes.net/wilco_sg/eastdr.jpg
and the site it came from:
http://megafest.sytes.net/wilco_sg/gl24.htm

The second dragn pic I posted:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~qr7s-kmy/g/fantasy/ryuzin.jpg
and its corresponding site:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~qr7s-kmy/g/index.html

The first of the two phoenix pics:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~qr7s-kmy/g/fantasy/phoenix2002.jpg
with accompaning site:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~qr7s-kmy/g/index.html

And finally, the second phoenix variation:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~qr7s-kmy/g/fantasy/phoenix35.jpg
with its site:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~qr7s-kmy/g/index.html

[SIDE NOTE] I stuck with common instant UBB code this time, so if these links don't work you can blame whomever created that whole system.

that's a lot of folding

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.
