Is Google incognito really incognito?
    #18649506 - 08/02/13 01:55 PM (10 years, 9 months ago)

With all this talk lately about how the gubment is spying on us and can track our Google searches and all that shit, what do you think about Google incognito? It's supposed to be like totally private and keep no history or anything but do you think the man can still see what we do in Google incognito? I don't know much about computers but does anyone know if it is really possible to even keep something like our Google searches totally hidden? I'm not paranoid or anything it just got me wondering. And since I am not doing this in Google incognito, i'd just like to say hello Mr. Obama and fuck you.

All incognito really does is it cleans up after the mess you left behind while browsing, so any cookies you have are flushed, cache is cleared, passwords not saved, and history is not kept.

It does nothing to anonymize you or render you untrackable.

:whathesaid:

incognito is useful for fapping

but thats about it

even when you open the window, it says

"be wary of surveillance by secret agents"

closest you can come to being anonymous is to use an IP changer (like hotspot shield)

but youre still pretty much on the grid

Without anyone looking at your chrome history knowing, that is. EVERYONE outside of your local machine knows, though. :uhoh: Actually, everyone ON your local machine knows too if they're paying attention to the traffic as it goes by... Private browsing is only good for keeping your girlfriend from knowing what you do while she's at work.
