Wrapping with parafilm 1

Can someone please describe the technique used to wrap petri dishes in parafilm?
I'm using a glovebox.
It just seems hard to cut the parafilm down to the right size inside the glove box and wrap the dishes inside the box.
If anyone wants to donate a flow hood to me, I'd be grateful.

Here I was hoping to see a reply with info.
I don't know how sterile parafilm is anyway, the roll it comes in doesn't look sterile since it has holes in the box that air and whatever comes with it can come through. So it leads me to believe it can be done open air with mild precautions.
Plus the tissue will probably have to be transferred away from contams or bacteria a time or two anyway.

I just did my first petri dishes recently and I wouldnt do it in open air. I use a still air box made from a plastic tub. Very easy to make

I was thinking of just taking them out of the glove box and wrapping with parafilm in open air to make it easier.
The dishes will be poured and transferred to in the glove box. Then the lid placed back on while still in the box...
Then I'm not sure if I should cut and apply the film in the glove box or open air. Obviously the most sterile would be doing it in the box, but cutting and applying the film in there sounds tedious.

I like to pre-cut my Parafilm. I use 60mm petris and the 1" Parafilm. 2 squares gets a dish done perfectly.
I wipe each piece with alcohol before putting it in the SAB.
Cutting Parafilm in a SAB just sucks. No real way around it. Don't expose unsealed dishes to open air.

Thank you.
Would wiping the parafilm with alcohol be necessary? One guy on here posted that wiping things with alcohol is like wiping your face with shit after taking a shower, he's a good grower, but very opinionated, so what are some other takes on this subject?

Alcohol does not kill mold spores . . . . but I wipe everything down with it anyway haha
But yeah they say if you wipe a contamed tool with alcohol you could transfer the contam to other tools with the same towel

I dont do it this way because I dont have a hepa yet, but the best way seems to be in front of a hepa or flow hood so you can flame sterilize the scalpel in between cuts

A very important distinction regarding the shower analogy is that it only applies when wiping a needle/scalpel etc. down with ISO immediately after flame-sterilising. Because yes, then you are more likely to introduce contaminants onto the freshly flamed surface but non-metallic surfaces that can’t be flame-sterilised should be wiped down with ISO as & when necessary.
Good luck!!!
