I was wondering... In all of my reserch that I have done, I never once found an article, book or web site that could tell me if there e any negative physical effects of consuming shrooms. I sure as hell haven't seen any. So would anyone know where I could find some pertinent information of the matter?

Well, there're many acute adverse physical side effects, but no chronic ones I've heard of.

What acute adverse physical side effects do you mean? Nausea, sweating and high heart rate?

all of the dangers are psychological. If you trip hard enough to experience real complete ego death the rebirth or reconstruction of your ego can be either good or bad...it just depends how you psychologically handle the rebirth of your ego.

But is an intense pain in your hand, while you're tripping, a physical or a mental side effect? The pain is totally created in your brain and it is not dangerous but you really feel the pain....

youve probably already seen this, but its all i can come up with (erowid.org)
Quote:
Many people experience nausea and/or vomiting during mushroom experiences, epecially with higher doses. Other possible negative effects include anxiety and unwanted or frightening thoughts and visions. Mushrooms, though perhaps to a lesser degree than LSD, can precipitate strong, temporary changes in an individual's experience of life and reality. It can be a powerful psychoactive experience, especially at higher doses, which is significantly affected by experiences, set and setting. Recent experiences, especially strong ones, can have a substantial effect on a trip. Physically or psychologically unsettling events in the days before a Mushroom trip can blossom into more serious distress and trauma while tripping. It is important to be prepared for the possibility of encountering difficult or frightening mental states. The Psychedelic Crisis FAQ addresses some of the issues involved in dealing with a difficult trip.

When I tripped, I had a constant 'flemy' feeling in my throat, like when you have a cold or something. I would get freaked out feeling like my throat had cotton stuffed in it or something, until I remembered just to cough and then it felt better. I was completely healthy at the time of the trip.
I wonder what caused it.

It happens to me as well. I also get a runny nose so that I'm sniffing all night.

It depends on what you consider negative. Most medical texts will list hallucinations as an adverse side effect of taking shrooms. You simply find this effect positive.
IMO, the possibility of a bad trip occuring is bad.

I call that "tripper's mouth", it comes with the territory. Just have plenty of water on hand.
