Does Anyone know how to stop an infestation of black gnats??? Second flush casings are just starting to pin and there are a few little black gnats in the chamber. Will bleach be able to kill these bastards without making the shrooms inedible, or is it just too late????
I'm just trying hippies bleach tec dunk, and all the gnats in one of my casings (which was very gnattyfied) have vanished over night. So I'm hoping this is a way to erradicate them.
I used a 200 to 1 bleach solution, and dunked for 6 hours. This i hope will get the eggs and lava of the gnats, but time will tell. ( Thanks for the idear hippie) At the moment there are none in the fruiting chambers, but as i only dunked yesterday i have yet to see if this is successful, it has certainly slowed them down for now, I'll keep you updated.
The methods i used before are sticky traps
Which work well, but will only keep numbers down and not get all the gnats (thrips).
