Growing out Fusarium Sporothichiodes?

I found some pink spots on my straw sub, and I posted pics in the contamination forum but I have a question that may be better to ask here.  I can't find much info on this subject, does anybody know if it would be safe to culture the pink spots onto agar?  I found information that says Fusarium Sporothichiodes grows greyish on PDYA so I'd like to know for sure what I am dealing with, to make sure I stay away from a particular straw supplier.
