this one is for all you experienced mycologists...

ok, this one is for all you knowledgable experts.

at my resteraunt dishwashing job, i recently contracted a superficial mycoses in my hands as a result of having my hands wet for 12h a day, 6 days a week. i also chronically wore my heavy nitrile gloves from home, though i suspect that maybe someone else was using them. i consulted a medical textbook and suspect that it might be a trichophyton infection. (yes, this IS a fungus.)

it also stated that this particular beast normally infected the feet, scalp, and groin. so, since this is a person to person transmissable disease, wouldnt it stand that it would be transmissable from my hands to my dick? i consulted a few doktors on this... some said that a topical antibiotic cream would be best, and others said that a pill form would be best.

if the disease is limited to my hands, than i agree with the topical cream approach: no systemic toxic side effects, localized concentrated treatment...

however, if the disease will spread, than a pill would do best. by blasting the whole of my eppidermis with drugs, id zap any bugz that tried to invade my bod.

i havent noticed any spread of infection yet, however, the incubation period seemed to be about a week, and as the sores have opened in the past few days.... the initial symptoms were itching, though that is fairly universal, and easily psychosomatisized.

so what do you guys say? due to the doktor's conflicting opinions, i would rather trust the expert mycologists than the pill dispensers'. will this fungus infect my dick or not?

on a side note... how feasible would it be to transfect trichophyton with some p. cubensis genes (namely the tryptophan -> 4-OH-DMT genes) and release a psychedellic disease. just imagine! victims could trip out by eating THEIR OWN SKIN!!! how cool would that be? actually, one would do best to use a vector that would extrete the tryptamine as an exotoxin... e.coli maybe?... i dont have my microbiology text handy.

oh yeah, if i wear vinyl gloves, while observing correct aseptic technique, are my p. cubensis at rick of contamination by this trichophyton? should i be sterilizing everything i touch, like this public library keyboard and mouse?

yeah... so...

Wow, ya'll have some excellent replies, lol.

I'd say go for the cream and start treatment immediatly. Try not to itch or touch other spots of your body, keep your hands clean, and if you do work on anything wear gloves. I doubt it will in anyway 'infect' your p.cubensis at fruit stages but it is always good to take percautions.

Now, I don't know what planet your from but.... That sounds rather nasty to me, and don't think such a method of intoxication would go over very well in the drug culture. Perhaps it is that money couldn't be made very well from an infectious disease unless it was not contagious (users could infect their friends for free). Perhaps it is that we already have our Psilocibin producers and it would take quite a bit of money/effort to create an organism that would aso produce this desired chemical. Or, perhaps it is simply the fact that you would be eating your own skin!

Yes it will. I wouldn't jerk around too much with it.

There are very effective drugs for this shit like Lamisil :pill: & Sporanox :pill2:. But be prepared for heavy side effects while taking them. There are even few death cases under investigation, related to this drugs.
