p.c. question
    #1862974 - 08/29/03 04:09 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

my pc.c. isnt keeping pressure and i ve troubleshot everything. the pressure lock went up but the sides are still steaming crazy! the rocker hasn't started moving yet either but there is steam coming out of the vent. could it be that maybe something happened when it dried out the other day? and if so, can i just keep it in there for a while in the boiling water and it do the same job as p.c.ing it? thanks

check the rubber seal under your lid!!

on some mirro models you actually have to remove them and give them a gentle strech and put them back.. a tiny TINY amount of cooking oil on the surface might help also!!

You can boil brf in water for an hour without a pc and have just as good a results. If you get the pc working again don't do 15psi for 60 that's for grains. Do 10psi for 45 minutes and I bet your way better off.

Be sure you have something on the bottom of the pc for the jars to sit on (I'm sure you've done this just being safe).

what is the big deal about having something in the bottom, i have done it without anything, and had no complications. This was the only time i used a PC.
