Pictures of cobweb in jars?
    #1861913 - 08/29/03 08:42 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I was looking at my jars today and in a couple of them I noticed what may be cobweb. I looked at the contamination picture but didn't see any of cobweb in a jar.

Does cobweb affect jars or just birthed substrates?

Does anyone have a good picture of the beggining of cobweb in a jar?

Maybe its just the mycelium but I noticed what looked like hairs coming out of the patches of mycelium. They were pretty fine, but as I've never seen colonizing cakes in person before, I don't know if they were the right size to be mycelium or cobweb, if that makes sense.

I'll try and post pictures tommorow.

Sounds promising, it could just be the right mycelium growin, so give it a bit longer, say 2 more days to see how it developes.

Is the suspected cobweb in the places you injected the spores?

I have pictures of what, based on my research, I'm pretty sure is cobweb at http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5494400#Post5494400

If it's contamination a line will develop between the contam and the good mycelium... cobweb is also more greyish than white, and mycelium DOES grow hairy things, so you're probably fine!

You failed to say what color the growth you're seeing is. Mushroom mycelium is snow white.
