Time delayed bulk grow

Hi All, this is my first post I tried looking for an answer but to no avail.
Ill start off saying that I am new to actually growing shrooms but before I started I did research for about 2 months looking at every type of substrate, Tek, fruiting chamber I could, but in no way know it all theirs just to much.
On 07/09/13 I decided to actually start the process and inoculated my first 5, 1/2 pint bfr jars, they are all contam free as of right now, one of them is even at 100%. I am really excited about the whole thing.
The problem is do to some unforeseen circumstances, I have to leave them for 20 days starting the 29th, I really do not want to move them to my fruit chamber yet because only one of them is ready and I will not be able to take care of them and I feel as if it would be a waste. I was wondering what an experienced cultivator recommends I do. I have done some research and I know I can use them for bulk spawn and case them which will give me some more time on the clock but how long. I guess the real question I have for you is what is the best way to deal with them so they will not colonize to fast and sit there for a long time. Also after looking around I decided I liked Prof_P's EZ Subz Bulk Poo Tek and was wondering if this would be the best tek to use in my circumstances
Thank you very much for taking time to read my question.

If they are healthy jars then you should be able to keep them in a dark container of their own for quite a while without having to fruit them, even a month. Hopefully you have a nice cool spot to keep them.

Thank you, I figured if I could some how make it into a a bulk grow I will not waste the time spent away, I know its probably not the best idea to try bulk on my first run, but no risk no reward.

You gotta wait 24 hours before bumping your own thread.
You do not have enough BRF jars to do a bulk grow, 20 days in a fruiting chamber and you would come back to pretty much nothing.
I know with grains you can pop the colonized jar in the fridge until you're ready to use it, not sure about BRF - maybe someone can chime in or try searching to see if others put colonized BRF in the fridge until ready to use.

You certainly could but I feel that 20+ days being away may be too long. You could spawn to bulk of course and cross your fingers everything works out and you can just fruit them when you get home Or just wait and spawn when you get back, should take 10-15 days to colonize a bulk project, give or take.

Im sorry for the bump, Ok so lets say I do end up doing a bulk, what should my spawn to substrate ratio be. I've read about 1:3 being a good ratio and was wondering if I maybe bump it up to 1:4 it should take a little longer to colonize right? But I know the longer it takes to colonize the more chance of contam, so is there some golden ration I should not exceed or should I just take a chance.
As to the idea of putting the jars in the fridge, it is simple not an option for me.
Thank you very much Gretchenmeister for the resopnces

1:4 up to 1:6 is ok, some do 1:10 but I find diminishing results at a ratio that low.
Although I did not say keep them in a fridge, I think fridges are yucky I did say cool place.
So also, if you want your tubs to colonize a bit slower, just be sure not to incubate them in a warm area. Ideally 65-70F would be good. The bulk will have some exothermic activity and produce its own heat at a point.

The fridge stuff was in response to tbagtag, I personally did not like the idea as I too believe that fridges are as you put it "yucky" .
So I've decided I'm just going to go for it and give bulk a try, maybe Ill get lucky and it will all work out. I'm going to try Prof_P's EZ Subz Bulk Poo Tek with a 1:6 ratio. and leave it in my room at 65F.
Any last tips or trick will be greatly appreciated.

You gonna do a monotub type set up or just fill up some trays and cover them with foil while you're gone?
