Does anyone here continue to fruit their casings even after the green or web shows up? What do you find the result to be?

Even if you do get pins, the mushrooms are not safe to consume due to their ability to suck up toxins.

green mold and cob web will spread to your other casing or cakes in the fruiter chamber.so leaving contaminated casing in there rly isn't a good idea.

what I did with my cakes that got contamed is grow them outside.... I took a fresh, sterile surgical knife and cut away the mold, knocked off any loose verm, crumbled the cakes up and mixed with pasterized organic compost moistened with a H20 H202 mix. they grew! They were small but I think that might have more to do with the fact that I spread the mix too thin and had to different species (always a mistake!). Even if you don't decide to eat them its nice to see the natural grow cycle.

Recently I?ve got a contaminated casing with green fuck and all I did was put it outside in a transparent bag with some holes for air exchange. Today I took a look at it and the green fuck was gone, and the mycelium had a very healthy shape and it took only 5 days for it to get rid of the green invader. Why? Ask the casing.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this but fuck it. My casings are in seperate terr's. so Im not worried about spreading. But If I make it all the way to pinning and now I see small spots of web, and green, growing very slowly. I will still grow them and most likely will try them. Its a chance I'm going to take. Plus, these are very small spots of mold. Not overrun casings, plus the mold grows very slowly if the humidity is lowered. Giving more time for the mushy's to grow. Peace.

If you fan manually, you should worry cause spores will spread all around and will contaminate everything. Lower humidity a lot and give lotsa air till you see the invaders go, but please not manual fan buy a fish tank bubblier. If the infected parts get bigger cut them off with whatever you like most and apply salt, bleach (very little), gypsum or anything else that makes life impossible.
