Not familiar with QLD cube season, but i would guess its well and truly done. Its a summer shroom, likes heat and summer rains.
But if rumours i hear are true there have been sightings of Psilocybe subaeruginosa in southern QLD and northern NSW, so you may strike it lucky, just do some reading and learn the habitats.

I've found some hope, seeing some posts from this time last year and a little bit later even saying they found cubes and pans around this time. It's inspired me. I'll give it a go regardless, just would like to know what to expect. Unfortunately I'm yet to find any cyans, I'd love to get my hands on some but haven't been able to discover anywhere they grow. Same for subs.

Apologies for the double post, thought I'd try my luck again. About to leave (about an hour off), just getting shit ready and having a smoke before I go.
Again, does anyone think this is worth it? The temps have been around 24 degrees celcius during the day and about anywhere from 14-10 during the night. Let me know what you think.

Hey, pretty new to the forum but very interested. Are there any actives that can be found in SE QLD during the colder months? And if so what sort of areas do they like growing in? Thanks

hey everybody,
thought its probably about time to actually create and account and contribute instead of just refiling through posts like usual. Yes, this time last year when i first started hunting i did find some cubes. Problem is they like the heat and humidity and given the current temperatures, you might not find them in the usual summer hideouts. On a side note, my favourite football team is MANCHESTER united , they never let me down, any time of year. (you should be able to figure that out if your in brisbane)
happy hunting.

Someone recently posted a P. cubensis find about 160 km north of Brisbane. I have also found a huge haul of P.cubensis about 50 km south west of Coffs Harbour in about October. So they are around, you just need some local rains and warm weather to bring them out.
