39-year-old Florida mom locks up 7-year-old son to get drunk with 26 teenagers

Authorities looking to break up an underage drinking party in Florida were left shocked when they found an intoxicated 39-year-old mom among the group of 26 rowdy minors.
Kimberly Clark Kiernan apparently locked her 7-year-old son in a room before throwing a huge party for the teens in her Palm Beach Shores condo last Monday. After entering the home, police were forced to kick down the door to free the child. [...]
Police were called in after neighbors reported a possible fight with large group outside. Two officers tried to get into the home only to find the door barricaded. After several minutes of trying to negotiate with Kiernan and the teens inside, authorities called for backup, with two police sergeants, five more patrol officers, and a canine arriving to the scene.
Eventually, offices managed to enter the home, only to find scattered beer and bottles all across the floor and a group of minors mostly between 14 and 17 years old. Meanwhile, Kiernan was so intoxicated she urinated on herself. Her young son was locked in a separate room and a 16-year-old girl was found choking on her vomit in a bathroom. The teenage girl was treated at a local hospital and police called the Department of Children and Families Emergency Hotline shortly after freeing the 7-year-old boy.
Kiernan was booked into Palm Beach County Jail on Tuesday and released on $8,000 bail Wednesday. She faces charges of making a false report, resisting an officer, cruelty toward a child, and 26 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Some kid locked in his room for a few hours? Fucking aye that isn't anything, if you can't put your kid in a room and tell them to shut up for a few hours what kind of a country do we live in? Its not child abuse to put your kid in bed for the night (or the fucking day if it came to it)

He was LOCKED in, with no means of getting out.
If, say, the mother threw the party at a DIFFERENT house and passed out, and the child was still locked in there, he might have gotten dehydrated and died from the heat wave.

Of course he was locked in, are you going to throw a party with your kid running around? What kind of shit is that? What makes you think he didn't have water and/or AC anyways?

You're defending this mother? I'm glad the cops got her. Being that irresponsible, she has no business raising kids.

How does a cop define choking on vomit when they have to justify breaking into someone's house and knocking doors down? I wonder.
She could have been acting as shitty as the picture they painted of her, but considering the information given I'm skeptical. They get a call about a fight and when no one answers the door they break it down? Some kid isn't allowed out of his room during this party and that's considered child abuse? The only shit that comes off wrong to me about this is a 39yr old woman having a party with a bunch of teenagers, but where is the story behind that in this article?
Sounds like a bunch of sensationalist bullshit and you guys are eating it up

I definitely don't want kids in a country where its considered child abuse to put your kid in a room for a few hours. If you can't put your kids to sleep at night, what the fuck is next?
Unless that kid was in there for a few days without food and water, but this article mentions nothing of the sort

I think you're overlooking te fact that she locked her kid up to get extremely drunk with 23 minors to the point here the police are called, the doors barricaded, and people are pissing their pants and drowning in their own puke.

I think you're overlooking the fact that all this information comes from the cops who decided to break in her house and now have to justify that action. The information is passed onto scum bag reporters and posted as a sensationalist smear article. Do you guys really take articles like this seriously? In other news another bright young man who was engaged and weeks away from obtaining his doctorates has jumped out of a 10 story window after overdosing on LSD.
Quality information there.

Do you really think the cops would want to break into this woman's home with no reason behind their actions? The fact that you think such a trivial story is fabricated makes you sound paranoid. I don't see how any rational person could defend this woman.

Yes there's a good chance they didn't have a good reason, do you really think cops can always justify their actions? If you're literally that naïve I can't continue this conversation
Its a trivial story, definitely not news worthy. I'm not defending her though, I don't know what was going on there and if we're all going off the same article no one else here does either.

I'm not saying that cops can always justify their actions, I'm saying in this particular case, I believe the police were doing the right thing by breaking up the party. I don't see how there could be any misconduct by the police in this case.
The neighbors felt that the party was out of control, the police show up to defuse the situation, the homeowner and party-goers are uncooperative, so the officers did what they had to do to stop the party.

On paper that sounds alright, but did the neighbors really have a good reason to call the cops? When the cops arrived what did the scene look like? I'm just skeptical about the way the information is presented with conclusions drawn into it but so little details, and being that I just woke up I need something to grumble about
