Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

I haven't done much but look at the spores. I'm not in mushroom mode just yet. Place is still full of plants and I need to clean my scope. I've put things on hold but I hear Workman may be looking at a sample soon. He's much better than I at these things.

Prints and small tissue sample FINALLY submitted for ID.
Go ahead and flame away for me being the most
apathetic potential discoverer ever! I deserve it.
They will be in Workman's trusted and discerning hands and
eyes for the final decision.
BTW, the patch still fruits regularly.
Cheers
Brewin

Waiting patiently for Workman's investigation.
Prints sent more than three weeks ago. Hoping they made it
through the mail OK. No fruit at the moment in the patch. Mighty cold
outside.

There's a very good chance it is Psilocybe alutaceae

Wasn't Psilocybe alutaceae observed in Tasmania by Chang?
That is 2600 km (1600 miles) straight south of here.
In other words closer to the south pole and a much cooler place.
This is found in a subtropical area, just south of the tropic of Capricorn
and this can fruit in the summer during warm rains.
I could not find the range Psilocybe alutaceae.
Thanks for your input. Cannot wait for the microscopy.
Brewin

Also, this is found on grass on a residential lot. No dung of any sort.

Man, I've seen the same shrooms  around Brisbane pretty much all year round??? I always thought I was just getting them mixed with subarugosia (Cbf spelling) cause I'd see them in woodchips and out.

Hopefully they're active, another species to hunt!

I think Psilocybe subaeruginosa is pretty rare in Qld. I saw some in Gold Coast hinterland last June, but I haven't heard of them being found on woodchips. Keep an eye out in autumn!
