Okay, so what's going on? Are these contams or not? It looks like it definately spread to other cakes and it looks like they are in little balls. Should I just toss them?

Hard to say... it almost looks like part of the substrate peeking through, which is what Paid said. If the site updates pictures, see if the spots grow or not. If they stay the same size or disappear, then probably nothing.

Yep, it sort of looks like the cakes were sprayed directly with water, flatterning it out and washing some off of the seed
substrate. If you notice there isn't and fluffyness to the cakes, which also means they may have been directly sprayed.

Yes, it could be drying out, making the mycelium die back

Erm, mycelium sweat is yellow, but that doesn't look like it, that red patch at the base of the cake just out of camera shot looks bad.

Oh, that's just a discolored piece of perlite. How about the yellow, is it a contam or what?? I'm worried that my friend is holding on to them. But I'd hate for him to waste them for no reason. Thanks guys!

Do they smell bad?

The guy said that it seemed like there really wasn't too much of a smell. But he said he was worried to sniff to closesly since there is a possibility of contams and he didn't want to inhale spores.

From the first set of pictures to the second set of pictures, it looks to be spreading, which would indicate a contam. I would give it another day or two to see for sure. If the yellow is contam, it will make itself known for certain soon enough.

Abdul just called me and said he was banging his head against the wall. I asked him why, he said that there was a crack ont eh bottom of the tub and all the water was drained out. He thinks that yellow is from the cakes being dry as fuck. Is it safe to say it's all a loss or if he gets another terrarium together there might be a chance that they will come back to life? Thanks again!
