Try reading the hunting FAQ!!
All actives in FL grow on Dung. You gotta look in a cow pasture which is pretty easy to find in that area.

A little advice... I live in central Fl near the gulf coast. There are litterly tons of fields everywhere. I have come to notice that the larger commercial fields I have come across have little or no shrooms. I heard they get a tax cut to feed the cows anti-shroom food. I don't know how true it is, but when I go to smaller fields, I can't stop finding them. You bend down to get a cluster of what we call "purple ringers" and you see two more clusters, its awesome.

Yeah, "purple ringers", i've heard that one from a lot of people in Florida.
It is much safer to actually learn (with a field guide) the exact species name and the descriptions. -"Purple Ringers" are actually Psilocybe cubensis.
Welcome to the hunting forum, stick around and learn somemore,

Not true. Feds have bigger problems to worry about than mushrooms that naturaly grow in the wilds. They're busy spending their money on things like trying to stop the influx of cocaine that's smuggled in from Florida.
And on a personal note... This thread discusts me. It doesn't get much more ignorant and 14 year-oldish than "I wanna find some shrooms quick. Does anyone know if there is any around here." FFS if you would have done 10-15 minutes worth of research(like reading the mushroom hunting FAQ) you would have never even have had to make a post making yourself look like a complete newb fool.

I know the proper name I was just throwing in some regional slang. The ones I didn't know the name of are what we call 'dickheads' because of there apperance. I know believe these to be blue meanies, never the less I was taught about shrooms when I was young by experienced shroomers and these are the only mushies we get. It becomes easy to identify after a few times. None of the people new the names really, just that they were safe because they had ingested them many times before.
About the anti-shroom food. I also thought this to be another urban legend, but why are there less shrooms if any, on most of the really big fields? The agriculture class at my high school had a cow pasture and they used something to eliminate the shrooms, and that was 6 years ago. Alot of people go shroomin around these parts and that would be a very effective way to cut it down some, without using any resources. Just incourage the farmers to use brand X food with a little incentive in the form of a tax cut.
