Looks like it could be an edible one.

I am not sure that the habitat matches well with A. arvensis though.

Are you seeing persistant yellow staining?

Arvensis doesn't yellow at the base.  its also not usually growing in mulch or wood chips, preferring grassy areas

Xanthodermus on the other hand would be very yes for both

well, Agaricus silvicola might match the habitat a tad better.  Fits the smell too i reckon

Agaricus spores are difficult to germinate, you are wise to make clones.

I germinated A silvicola spores a few weeks ago and now have some grain jars finished. Its an insanely fast species, almost as fast as A bitorquis! I've also done A Augustus spores so I'm not sure what you guys do that makes them so hard. :shrug: I can't wait to try more Agaricus in the future.:smile:
