"We are all on our own path"
    #1852898 - 08/26/03 11:00 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Each finding our own way, in our own way.

Discuss this idea.

--------------------
The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

Huxley said that human communication only "works" because what we all experience is relatively similar. Thus we can make generalized "words" to describe something that we each experience in a slightly different yet mostly similar way.

I think the same applies to all areas of life where more than one conciousness is involved. We all experience life in a slightly different way (some of us more than slightly...) and thus we must all learn and grow in our own slightly different way.

Yes, we are all on our own path...but the paths are much more alike than most of us think

well some may call in the interstellar police squad while others may just shoot the meteorite back into space with a souped up vintage automobile... but whatever you do... don't cause a nuclear meltdown!

"Sometimes we live in no particular way but our own"

"There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night. And if you go, no one may follow. That path is for your steps alone. You who choose to lead must follow, but if you fall, you fall alone. If you should stand then who's to guide you? If I knew the way, I would take you home."

Final Fantasy 1

--------------------
What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

No I haven't! I'll have to check it out. Gotta love Lucas Arts' adventure games. Sam N' Max is another favorite of mine.

Somehow I think this thread has taken it's own path. hehe

"Each finding our own way, in our own way."

I see plants doing the same thing  - all trying to figure out the best way from their current position to "see the light."

I see evolution "urging" everything it creates to continue to attempt "new things." This could be considered an "obligation" of each life-form.

--------------------
Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

Zak McKracken is fuckin awesome, you travel all over the world trying to stop these aliens that have taken over the telephone company. it's hard as fuck, theres so many weird problems you have to solve with all sorts of fucked up items. one of those games where you have to do alot of guess-work. nobody guides you along, you have to figure out all the shit for yourself

those games are so cool because the secrets are guarded so well, you actually feel like you've hacked the game or something by finding a secret area or whatever... good shit

This is Change. Change seems to be ever constant, does it not? One of the only things I regard as permanent, Change...

Haha. Isn't that great? Change, it is permanent.... The principle of Change never changes, it will always be here...

I have found quite the paradox, perhaps? I mean, nothing can ever be permanent, there is always something changing... and the fact that there is always Change points towards Change being permanent, right? But, wait, nothing can ever be permanent, as there is always something changing, which points towards the fact that the idea of Change is permanent, right? But, no, wait...

I have now submitted to the forces of the universe, use me as you will...
Peace.

"There are many paths to the top of the mountain, but once you get there it's all the same view" ~ Ram Dass

Dont think those were his exact words but he had the same idea.
